So, illegal immigrants are causing this Sarge? Explain please.

Sounds to me like the system is causing YOUR problems. If there were no illegals, your wife would have her citizenship already?

Dead and Bloated:
No doubt the system is being taxed by illegals. My point was that your taxes aren't going to go down once the immigration issue is resolved. That money will just go elsewhere.

Again, I'm not defending immigration, just pointing out that Sarge isn't directly paying for anyones healthcare with money he earned. That money is being taken out of his check regardless. Now, he can disagree all he wants with how that money is being used, but to pretend that he's "suffering" from it is a joke, IMO.

"I would have bought a new car last month, but the immigrant medical bills are killing me."

Am I the only one questioning this guy's ability to think two moves ahead?

Explain again how your wife's situation is a DIRECT RESULT of illegal immigration.

Sounds to me like you are "jealous" that some are getting a free ride, while you are working hard legally. However, they (illegals) aren't causing your problems.

Because?

Is it because the illegals are tying up the citizenship process, so your wife is forced in to the back of the line?

The illegals are draining the resources for the citizenship process. They have also added to the cost, costs added to pay for additional resources, and costs added to help ensure citizens meet certain requirements.

I wonder how many people you "LOL"d to to their face who experienced what we have. I'm sure they're thinking very highly of you.

And the Iraq war, tax cuts for the wealthy, a broken welfare system, natural disasters, etc aren't draining the system?
Is there some kind of "immigrant fund" in Washington that these unsubstantiated claims you make are taken out of?

Actually, "no". These are taken from the "legal resident" fund, otherwise known as "taxes". It's a legitimate system financed by legal residents. You should look it up sometime. Try google.

There is a huge human cost to illegal immigration. It's not just higher taxes that will go even higher on the local and state level from the Senate amnesty plan.

Here's a sample of the price of not securing our borders and allowing illegal immigration.

"Eighteen-year-old Tricia Taylor of Detroit was in court in December 2002 to hear the plea of the illegal alien who caused her to lose both legs above the knees. Jose Carcamo was driving under the influence (.08 percent blood alcohol level) and speeding when he drove over a curb and smashed Taylor into a wall. One report stated that Carcamo has had 17 violations since 1995. Another noted that he was drag racing at the time of the crash. It is agreed that the car was travelling between 50 and 75 miles per hour on a street posted for 25 mph. Taylor's companion Noah Menard suffered a fractured skull and collarbone, as well as requiring eight pins to reconstruct his mangled elbow. The INS had twice begun deportation proceeding against Carcamo to return him to El Salvador, but regrettably did not follow through. Carcamo will be out of jail in a few years, but Tricia Taylor faces a lifetime of pain and disability because of another failure of the INS to remove a dangerous alien. Incidentally, drinking to excess and then driving is celebrated in Hispanic cultures rather than condemned.
Sentencing Update: On January 13, 2003 Jose Carcamo was sentenced to 3-5 years in prison. Four months after the crash, Tricia Taylor still must take pain medication, antibiotics, anti-depressants and sleeping pills. Chronic bone infection means she may yet lose more of her right leg. Carcamo sent a note of apology to Taylor and Menard, but misspelled the names. She responded, "It hurts me every time I see him. He acts like he's sorry, but you'd think he would know our names." She is not forgiving, either: "I have my whole life with no legs ... I'm only 18. He gets no forgiveness."

Some more examples of the human cost of this mess.

Does a 48% county tax increase count or higher school taxes each year which includes costs to teach kids that can't speak English. Ask Umatilla, Oregon prison warden about the $318,000 bill he just sent to Vicente Fox to pay for the costs to house illegal alien criminals in his jail. Fox never responded to his letter.

We're training thousands of police in Iraq, but can't train a force to raid employers of illegals. Any money spent on a fence is worthless, these people aren't dumb.

B) The wind zipping through your scull, unobstructed.

C) The earth swaying beneath your massive, 600 pound womanly frame.

so il hiker - Ok, you've done your trolling. Good job. We're all impressed. You initiated a discussion with me with personal insults, and you finalized it with more. That's great. I'll even let you have the last insult. I won't even try to respond tit for tat this time. Did you get it out of your system? Ready to act like our ages now? That would be just grand. I'm going to bed now. Take care!

Even worse he inserted into the bill that Vincente Fox needs to have say in how we secure the border. It shows how low we are sinking when we desire a president of another country to dictate to us how to secure our own border.

so ill, here is a neat thought...how are the CRIMINALS costing us? OKAY, first...it is NOT THE GOVERNMENT'S MONEY YOU BLITHERING TWIT. See Tax cuts are actually allowing us more FREEDOM with the money WE EARNED. Now lets go to California (by the way your Senators voted to grant amnesty) there are EMERGENCY ROOMS closing because of unpaid bills to treat these criminals).

So ill, yes if the bills for the FREE MONEY ENTITLEMENT CROWD were not so high you might have more money to buy that new car.

Now on the other hand, as you spew your socialist dogma about the EVIL RICH (you have no freaking idea who the average Millionaire is I will wager) remember this. They produce the money the government takes to pay off the non workers who repay the government (elected officials) with a job every few years.

On the hilarious side...the unions take a hit everytime an illegal is hired. YEP if Pedro will do the job and not argue why the heck do I need to enforce wages?

One neat idea I heard was to make ALL immigrant labor register at Private companies that would pay the laborers. Employers would pay the companies (meaning more jobs for Americans in the Service Industry) and the money would be paid to the green card holders. This way the companies can't underpay, and we know the money is partially going to pay for benefits the laborers are collecting.

It would go to the benefit of the American citizens. Not to criminals. Call me crazy but I don’t condone criminals. Here’s a good web site that shows the highest cost of all…American lives. That means something to me.

Here's the Border Patrol's opinion on yesterday's Senate vote.

McCain, Kennedy, Specter, and Bush Sell Out America - The Senate passed a shameful bill today at the urging of an equally shameful George W. Bush, fresh off his dune-buggy riding jaunt in Yuma surrounded by a bunch of adoring, star-struck Border Patrol managers. This bill cheapens citizenship in this country (again), it throws the rule of law out the window (again), it places unconcsionable burdens on DHS (verifying the identity of every illegal alien in this country within 90 days), it repeats, and at a minimum, quadruples the worst immigration mistake in the history of this country (IRCA 1986), it sells out our soverignty by forcing the American government to "consult with the Mexican government" before planning or building any border fences, it encourages more widespread fraud than this country has ever seen (you'll see what we're talking about if this actually passes the House), and it is completely unenforceable and will overwhelm the system. Other than that, great job Senators. You have succeeded in placing the morale of frontline Border Patrol agents in the toilet just when we thought it couldn't possibly get any worse. More to follow. 05-25-06

"Why not say to those undocumented workers who are working the jobs that the rest of us refuse, come out from the shadows," Arizona Republican John McCain. This guy just doesn't get it. Uh, Senator, they put themselves in those "shadows" by breaking our laws and they need to go home. They weren't forcibly placed in the "shadows" by some murdering tyrant from the Middle East. They freely chose to break our laws, steal our jobs, and take advantage of our wobbly-kneed politicians who let them do it. Instead of using all that energy to fix their own corrupt country, they sneak into ours and then demand that we change our system to fit their crimes. It's pretty simple stuff. 05-25-06

Statement: Every day that President Bush and the Senate hold real border security hostage to their misguided amnesty program, thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens continue to flood into the country. Make no mistake, most of them get by us. We are losing this war, and it's not even close. Contact your senators and congressmen now. Tell them to secure the border and tell them to reject amnesty programs (so called "guest-worker").

Mexico's Hypocrisy - "Do as I say, not as I do" seems to be the popular theme emanating from President Fox and the Mexican government these days. They want us to afford instant benefits and eventual citizenship to illegal aliens in this country, but take a look at the way non-native born "citizens" are treated in their society. It is mind-boggling that Mr. Fox can keep a straight face when he lays out all these demands (to a usually compliant President Bush who always seems more eager to please Fox than the American people). Read an article here. 05-22-06

CQ TODAY MIDDAY UPDATE
Nov. 9, 2007 – 2:15 p.m.

Angry Hispanic Democrats Confront House Leaders

Tensions between Hispanic Democrats and House leaders exploded Friday when a bloc of Hispanic lawmakers voted to derail a major tax bill, relenting only after an angry confrontation on the floor with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer, D-Md.

The rebellion was a response to votes by 36 Democrats Thursday night in favor of a non-binding Republican motion Hispanic members called offensive. It instructed House conferees on an appropriations bill to accept a Senate-passed provision prohibiting the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from suing employers over certain English-speaking requirements.

That motion was the latest in a series of immigration- and language-related votes that Republicans have used to splinter Democrats, some of whom are nervous about GOP attack ads that could portray them as “soft” on illegal immigration.

Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus said Thursday night’s vote was their breaking point. They retaliated by initially voting against the rule allowing debate of the tax bill, very nearly sinking the measure and prompting a fiery exchange on the floor.

Hoyer was toe-to-toe with the much shorter Joe Baca, D-Calif., chairman of the Hispanic caucus. According to one Hispanic Democrat, Hoyer jabbed his finger at Baca and yelled, “How dare you destroy this party? This will be the worst loss in 10 years.”

That same Hispanic lawmaker reported that Pelosi said, “You see this on the board? This is against me, this is against me personally.”

The Hoyer and Pelosi comments were part of private conversations, not audible in the press gallery above the chamber or captured by C-SPAN microphones.

Ultimately, enough members of the Hispanic caucus switched their votes to ensure adoption of the rule. They said they had made their point.

But it was clear there would be plenty more discussions in the future.
