WIND RIVER,WY “Planing to hike from Big Sandy campground trail head to Green River Lakes campground via the Fremont and Highline trails this summer 2006. I plan on starting around Augest 15th. I maybe able to start as much as a week earlier or a week later. It appears to be approximately 65 linear mile hike along the divide.I am leaving time for side trips but this all depends on food drop capabilities.I have even considered doing 2 seperate loops (one start from Green Lakes trail head and returning then driving north to start the second loop from the Big Sandy area and returning so that the high lights of the region canbe enjoyed. I am pretty flexable. I hiked the area briefly, after hiking in Sawtooths of Idaho earlier last summer on the way home. Just my Yellow Lab and I. We had a great time, great country, just ran out of time. Anyone seriously interested about an 8 day (flexable) trip or has done this hike before with suggestion/advice/imput.Please feel welcome.” 9:35:03 PM 5/05/06 “You can do a thread search for past trips. I was on this one. http://mail.thebackpacker.com/trailtalk/thread/25677,-1.php It was great. My photos, if you're interested..... http://community.webshots.com/album/198958657RlaAZs” 9:37:15 AM 5/06/06 “Wow, what a trip. Sounds great. Just don't go off trail and have a boulder roll across your legs” 11:55:33 AM 5/07/06 “We did this trip several years ago. We carried all our food, no need for a drop or cache, although there are folks who will do that for you. It's a lifetime trip. The Stockman's Bar in Pinedale had great prime rib our first meal out!” 11:30:50 PM 5/07/06 “Best meteor shower I ever saw was up there. How bout it Bison” 6:52:47 PM 5/08/06 “This is real tempting.” 9:47:05 PM 5/08/06
