Ursack hybrid?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 6 of 6 messages posted.
“Does anyone use (or know anyone who uses) the Ursack Hybrid? I want to get away from the space hog that is my Garcia canister and am considering the Hybrid or the small BearVault. I love the idea of the lighter weight of the Hybrid, but can find few reviews online. Whatever I pick will be mainly used in the Rockies, especially Colorado, but I wouldn't want to buy something unsuitable for other hikes. Thanks.” 7:12:31 AM 5/09/06 “I am both an Ursack and a Bear Vault Solo user-both are great, and both have places where their use is perfect. The BV gives me security in areas with racoons - the Ursack gives me the lightness and security I need for most trips. If I was in grizzly areas, I would take the BV. Otherwise, the Ursack comes along :-)” 8:47:43 AM 5/09/06 “their web site sucks and when you call their sales number you get a recording that says to use their web site. i am NOT impressed.” 1:36:51 PM 5/09/06 “I have the ursack. It's okay for around here. Never had any problems with it, but I never had any problems with a regular waterproof sea to summit bag either. I use the bear canister in Cali or in other areas where it's regulation.” 2:08:21 PM 5/09/06 “Which website, Jimmysan? If you are meaning Ursack..the company is small-but they are honest. I know many hikers who have bought directly from them with no issues (including me!) Over half of our hiking group has an Ursack..lol! I know from the online company I work for, toll free phone #'s are pricey-and you get people that call that want to yackyackyack....they never shut up!” 3:59:34 PM 5/09/06 “i believe you, sarbar1. i just got annoyed when their web site crashed and then i got that recording telling me to use the web site.” 4:10:36 PM 5/09/06
