I was just wondering if anyone on here knew of any good trails to hike in SC or in NC close to the SC-NC line. I want a trail that is not too long and would be good for overnights or weekend trips.

i just came back from ceasars head state park.

they have some great loops, so does jones gap park. you prolly know about them though.

I hike them a lot as a 10 mile day hike loop, but you can map out more then 10 miles easy.

Yeah, the Mountain Bridge Wilderness is probably the best bet going along the NC/SC border. You can always do sections or loops along the Foothills Trail, too.

personally I like Mount Mitchell better, but it's also about 2 hours further. Even Damascus would be awesome.

who are you hiking/backpacking with?

As of right now I haven't quite found a trail partner. I am hoping to meet some guys at the camp I will be working at right now. I really don't want to out alone, but I am pretty sure between here and camp I will find someone that wants to go.

There is a Table Rock on the east side of Linville Gorge. There is also a Table Rock in upstate South Carolina and one in South Africa. Probably a few more.

There is a Big Cock Rock in George Washington National Forest on the West Virginia/Virginia line.

It points almost due north.
