By the way, since you ask (you assumed, but we'll pretend you asked) ... I AM judging ANY parent who let's their young kids unsupervised on the internet. That act is highly irresponsible, and therefore they are being irresponsible in doing so. (PC disclaimer just for you ...) That doesn't mean they don't love their kids, or are otherwise responsible, but in that act, they are irresponsible. I admit to judging them in that sense.

“The only reason to not like cats is if your insecure. Nothing wrong with needing the constant reaffirming love of a dog but it's pretty mindless.

I worked with dogs for a little while. All types, from little mutts to bloodhounds and rottweilers. Played and loved on them every day. Never needed a leash. Not even when I lead them to OR and had them jump up on the table. Wagging and smiling the whole time. Every time.

Don't get me wrong. I've had dogs for pets and like 'em as such. Wish I could have one now. But you can pick any in a litter and get the same companion.

You have to be far more careful when selecting a cat. There needs to be a mutual acceptance.

I've never known a cat to not act compassionate when I haven't felt well. Our last two have always greeted us at the door and come on command if they weren't sleeping or eating. And the current one plays fetch, loves to be chased, and chases back.
