Sarge, didn’t you have anything better to do on Memorial Day except obsess about bolstering your argument on semantics? Don't you mean, "about semantics?" FACT: I asked you what was your rating and you didn’t have a clue about ratings until I showed you the way. FACT: Not only did I know what ratings were, I showed that you DID NOT KNOW what ratings are. You were proven NOT to know, so you couldn't have shown me the way. You still won't admit you were wrong, even though I presented plenty of evidence, including the ONLY source you said you'd accept. BAM! And you STILL won’t tell us anything about nine by nineteen. It’s simple it’s easy, and it doesn’t take but two seconds to tell me what you know about the subject. Excuse me? YOU won't admit to being wrong about what "ratings" are. YOU won't admit to being wrong about my reason for not posting (remember, you called me a liar, and I proved to you you were wrong, but you let that pass right by without an apology). I should be asking YOU questions because so far you've shown that you don't know military terminology. Or will the obvious argument be: “I ain’t answering nothing until you apologize.” I have no reason to answer your questions - again, you should be answering mine since you have proven not to be worthy of teaching me anything. Secondly, not only do you need to apologize for both things, you need to admit you were WRONG about both things. I apologize. Please, give me your advice. Please, tell me what you initially think about two (any two) issues about the subject. I’ll be more specific about my questions once you come on board. More specific? Ha! YOU are the one who gave a pompous LECTURE about using the correct terminology. I don't just want an apology (for both things), but I want you to sincerely admit you were wrong about your use of the word. Admit to everyone that you were wrong and I was correct. And none of this patronizing apology born out of the fact that you're humiliated in the whole thing. Be the big man you think you are - after all, to pull of wearing that skirt you better be a real man. Right? last edited: 5/30/06 7:13:15 AM” 7:10:39 AM 5/30/06 “I an't even gonna read this debate...Sarge...remember the old story about wrestling with a pig? You both get dirty and the pig enjoys it.” 7:14:15 AM 5/30/06 “I have no problems getting dirty XL, so long as arclite is exposed for the pig that he is. Mission Accomplished PS - You really ought to read this. Go back to the beginning where arclite lectures me (he started lecturing you actually) about the proper use of words instead of the common useage. He ends up trying to prove how smart he is and how much more he knows about military terminology, and ends up getting owned. It's the biggest burn I've seen on trailtalk in a long time. His pompous attitute is what makes it so funny. last edited: 5/30/06 7:17:29 AM” 7:15:13 AM 5/30/06 “Yeah, I screwed up. I was so busy trying to trip you up, that I mixed my terms. I should have said rating badge, or I should have said rate instead of rating. I was trying to be clever enough to keep you from finding the answers on the web. I failed miserably. Failure is acceptable, quitting isn’t. I was trying to differentiate between rank and rate. I wasn’t as clear in my word definitions as I should have been and therein lies the problem. Isn’t it amazing how miscommunication occurs when words are improperly defined? That said, a Petty Officer Second Class has an E-5 rating badge and occupational specialties in the Navy are called rates. And it’s all very confusing. http://www.defenselink.mil/specials/insignias/enlisted.html “Basic training is followed by a specialized or advanced training phase that provides recruits with a specific area of expertise or concentration. In the Army and Marines, this area is called a military occupational specialty; in the Navy it is known as a rate; and in the Air Force it is simply called an Air Force specialty.” An E-5 is simply a Sergeant or a Petty Officer Second Class. Why spend so much of your time researching semantics? The point is, that after all your red herrings, indignation, and obsession over semantics, that if I ask you about an E-5 rate, or rating, it’s obviously Navy or Coast Guard, not Army, Marines, or Air Force. And so the easy answer is PO2. Who’s the one who’s obsessing about exact word definitions? Sarge, your character is showing. You’re right, an obnoxiously rude waste of space has no reason to answer my questions. But almost every military person I have known is polite enough to answer questions, or at least they’d have the courage to admit that they don’t know what I’m asking, you troll. You’re obviously clueless about a number of things and cannot apologize, nor ask intelligent questions. You run your mouth when you think you’ve found an answer on the web. Pompous? Boy Howdy! You are the poster child. You’ve never completed a mission in your life except for being rude to others. And you certainly don’t know anything about ammunition; except maybe for pea caliber. XL, that's another major problem I see with government agencies. For private business, we've got all sorts of legal means for redress. Just try getting legal satisfaction from the government. Has the FDA ever been sued, by private individuals, for approving harmful drugs? I honestly don’t know. But most government bureacrats are unelected and therefore uncaccountable to the people for their jobs. I’m sure we’ve all got stories of people who would have been fired in the private sector but have managed to stay in government. Stiglitz has some really interesting things to say about the IMF and the World Bank. "It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong." Thomas Sowell” 3:21:47 PM 5/30/06 “Where's the vioxx link? I can only offer my opinion since the FDA does exist, no? So we can speculate (or not?): Who would Police the Drug Companies? Who would stop pure crap from making it to market? Who would force Drug Companies to follow "the rules"? As I said, The FDA could do it's job better if it was completely independent from the Admin. But I believe it is impossible to forecast all possible side effects of drugs therefore harmful products will always be an issue. But I can't imagine how you might reduce the problems without a Regulatory Agency. Should The USDA also be eliminated? last edited: 5/30/06 4:05:20 PM” 4:04:57 PM 5/30/06 “arclite - Even after YOU screwed up (admittedly), you still try to make it sound like I guessed right, or just happened to look up the term on the internet - How convenient, you can just say I googled it if I get it right, you can laugh if I get it wrong. BUT, I got it right without looking it up, and you got it wrong from the beginning. You were wrong. You won't apologize or admit it. (you say "I screwed up" and come up w/ a lame excuse, like you forgot other words). You are exposed arclite. For the record, I only obsessed about exact word definitions because you did (that's the 2nd time I've said that now). You've been owned. You won't admit it. That dress you wore at your wedding was very appropriate.” 5:23:31 PM 5/30/06 “PS - You also owe XL an apology since you gave him that lecture about how important it is to use proper meaning vs. common meaning. ("All my sergeant friends would never say it that way.") LOL! What a fraud!” 5:25:29 PM 5/30/06 “http://www.adrugrecall.com/news/vioxx-fda-whistleblower.html Here it is, bear. Isn’t most of life speculation? I only wish I had blueprints. Are you familiar with the concept of the “invisible hand”, bear? The free-market does a pretty good job of regulating itself due to basic human behavior. Although there’s been a lot of economic research poking holes in the free-market concept. John Keynes won the Nobel with some differing theories. Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz has written a paper called… That’s a little more advanced than I’ve got in my study of economics. Violin should be able to help us out with economic questions. The liberal idea is that, before government controls, the market was kept in check because a company that produces bogus medicine goes out of business. It either loses customers because of a bad reputation or it goes bankrupt through lawsuits. If a company’s actions prove negligent, business people go to prison. Watch how many people from the government regulatory agency that was supposed to oversee Fannie Mae go to prison. To want controls in the first place, you’ve got to believe in the inherent bad-will of the people who run companies. Given the news about business excesses, that’s the way some people view all big companies. It’s a total lack of trust that people will act in their own self-interest (the “invisible hand”), and that self-interest does not include going bankrupt or to prison. But many people try to deny that self-interest is basic human nature. They try to worship those who serve others. Ayn Rand wrote some very interesting books about that subject. USDA? Throw the bums out! You know how the USDA inspects most chickens for disease? They don’t examine most of them through a microscope. Someone stands by the conveyor and they visually inspect the chickens for chickens#!t. It’s sorta like looking at Sarge. I didn’t pay much attention to this Sarge character until just recently. I’ve had a chance to roam the site reading this idiot’s posts. It reminds me of something near and dear to my heart. It’s a cloudy image of my obnoxious sports fan persona. There are a couple of differences: The obnoxious sports fan persona stays on the college football thread. It’s too obnoxious to let out of its cage. Sarge is a free-range character. The obnoxious sports fan persona adds topical information to discussions. Sarge is a pathetic little s#!tbird that whines indignantly while refusing to answer questions. Sarge, hasn’t said a word about healthcare in days. Basically it has nothing intelligent to add to this thread. All the Sarge character appears to be good at is attempting to evade and attempting to annoy. Sarge preaches phony Christian BS and talks like a phony Rambo wannabe. The character appears to be created by a pathological liar. The Sarge character is an insult to Christians and soldiers alike. I relish the idea of calling Sarge a coward to its face. Would then Sarge profess its Christian beliefs in order to save my soul? Sarge is as much a Christian as Madonna. I’d love to meet up on Memorial Day next year. Or we could meet up on Veterans Day this year. I’ve met a couple of them. I’d love to meet a phony on either of those two days. We’ll share some laughs. Sarge has no credibility, nor respect. It’s the Bevis and Butthead of obnoxious characters. It adds nothing.” 9:48:29 PM 5/30/06 “Sorry, bear. Stiglitz wrote a number of papers on the concept of imperfect information. Insert one in the … I’m guessing that it has to do with the concept that some folks (such as CEOs) are privy to more complete, and timely, market information than others. Having faster, and more complete, market information would give a competitive advantage. But I’m only guessing here. I’d like to read a couple of these in the future just because their titles sound so cool. I’m trying to learn what I can. Have you read much economic thought? "On the Impossibility of Informationally Efficient Markets", with S.J. Grossman, 1980, AER. "Money, Imperfect Information and Economic Fluctuations" with B.C. Greenwald, 1988, in Kohn and Tsiang, editors, Financial Constraints, Expectations and Macroeconomics "Imperfect Information, Finance Constraints and Business Fluctuations", with B.C. Greenwald, 1988, in Kohn and Tsiang, editors, Financial Constraints, Expectations and Macroeconomics. "Externalities in Economies with Imperfect Information and Incomplete Markets", with B.C. Greenwald, 1986, QJE.” 10:34:12 PM 5/30/06 “arclite, in his failure to succeed in the debate he created on this thread about military terminology, has resorted to name calling and more personal attacks in an effort to draw attention away from the fact that he not only preaches rhetoric he does not live by, but is unwilling to admit he is wrong on a topic which he claims to be an expert in. He would much rather switch the conversation back to government healthcare (as it was before he gave XL the lecture about using proper terminology) now that he has proven unworthy to continue the off-topic debate in which he started. Two words: Transparent. Typical.” 11:54:21 PM 5/30/06 “So arclite, basically what you are saying is that lecture you gave us about using proper terminology doesn't apply anymore, you'd rather talk about something else?? That lecture is reserved for people other than you, right? LMAO!! "Hey everybody! Can we get back on topic please? I know I got us off topic, but now that I look like a complete moron on military terminology even though I brought it up to try to make Sarge look bad, I'd like to get back on topic. Insincerely, arclite"” 12:03:09 AM 5/31/06 “I sure would love to hear Sarge share his views on the most used military pistol ammunition in the world. The one he denies being clueless about. The only believable thing an idiot like that could say is that he was only fit to be issued a spatula during his alleged military service. This Sarge thing is laughably stupid. This thing didn’t have a mother, it sprouted from cow flop. This isn’t a character, it’s the pathetic creation of a drunken child. Anyone capable of creating a phony, lying, whiney, cowardly, little puke like Sarge, is unfit for healthy company. Does anyone think this character is funny? It’s the sick product of someone whose dysfunctional aim is to be obnoxiously inane. Any person who resents Christians and soldiers so much that they need to create a twisted caricature such as Sarge, has years of therapy ahead (if they’re lucky). This thing can’t have a relationship. A thing like this would prefer a blow up doll and child pornography. This Sarge thing is more grotesque than a boil on violin’s butt.” 11:16:55 AM 5/31/06 “(stepping aside from arclite's obvious ploy to change the subject about his failure to understand military terminology) ... Just checked w/ a friend of mine who was in the Navy (and is now in the Navy Reserve) - he confirmed that you would never say E-5 rating. I asked him if he even heard people say it mistakenly ... "No. That's your pay-grade." LOL! arclite, you can continue on insulting me all you want. For what? Correctly answering your question, of which YOU didn't even know the answer to?? LOL! Anybody can talk the talk, but not everybody can walk the walk. arclite is a talker. You've been owned arclite, and now you've reduced yourself to making childish insults instead of admitting your foolishness. LMAO!!!!!!!! last edited: 5/31/06 11:29:43 AM” 11:29:11 AM 5/31/06 “TUESDAY, May 30 (HealthDay News) -- Canadians are healthier than Americans, have better access to health care and have fewer unmet health needs, a new study of both countries reveals. The findings come in spite of the fact that the United States spends almost twice as much per capita on health care as Canada, the researchers noted. "This shows that you can spend much less than we [Americans] do, and deliver much more and better care then we do," said study co-author Dr. David U. Himmelstein, an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Mass. The new study appears to reinforce the findings of a Rand Corporation report issued earlier this month that showed a similar health care gap between the U.S. system and that of Great Britain, which, like Canada, has a universal health care system -- subsidized by tax dollars. In the current study, Himmelstein and his colleagues reviewed responses from more than 3,500 Canadians and almost 5,200 Americans over the age of 18 who participated in the Joint Canada/U.S. Survey of Health -- a one-time phone survey conducted between 2002 and 2003. [...] Specifically, Americans are one-third less likely to have a regular doctor, two times less likely to take needed medications, and one-fourth more likely to have unmet health care needs than Canadians. While Americans were more likely to identify cost as the impediment to care, Canadians were more likely to cite waiting times as their main obstacle to good care. However, just 3.5 percent of Canadians were impacted by treatment delays, the survey found. The question shouldn't be "Is my life more enjoyable?", the question should be "Do I have more or less freedoms?" I am willing to have less "benefits" for the sake of having additional freedoms. Are you?” 1:05:08 PM 5/31/06 “Thanks for the link. I do look forward to this trial. And am very curious. But if the FDA was truly negligent will we ever know why? In any case, maybe a shake up will result. I will be an opptomist on this point. Not sure why. I'm easily confused, especially these days so please bear with me..... 1. We can not let free-market regulate/control the Pharma World. Because it would be just a matter of time before a drug came out that was harmful and a result of negligent research. You can't not regulate when lives may be at stake. The people would scream for regulation. This is why we have regulation now. It wasn't one incident, it was several over time. I would say Free-market wasn't working. Lives being loss because of delay in drug development is not a quick fix as is trying to stop harmful drugs from reaching market. I don't think you can rely on human nature because to often people mis-prioritize what's important and rationalize behavior that should never be. This happens under many different circumstances, no? Somehow they convince themselves that everything will be OK. But we can use the Pharma World as an example. The need to produce puts a hellish amount of pressure on people. Scientist who don't produce viable drugs lose their jobs all the time. Companies who don't beat their competitors to Market face possible personal upheaval along with financial ruin. They do have to worry about patents along with the FDA policy of identical drugs not being allowed I have a nice story for a rush to market screw-up: Two Competitors drugs came to our Company for testing. They were made of actual blood products. One company was not so careful in production. It was an obvious rush job to try and beat their competitor; they skipped a step which would have destroyed all the circulating immune cells of the blood product. Our Company saw this in their Formulations report. We knew it was not gonna work. However, to inform them of this would be unethical, it would showed favoritism. We "Tested" the drug. +95% of the 400 mice were dead by the next Morning. Acute Graft vs. Host Disease. When we reported the results that day, ethics once again bounded us to not reveal the cause of death. I'm sure they lost the race to Market and someone or some people lost their job. Isn't that human behavior/nature? as a side to the story - kind of made me sick that business ethics takes precedence over humane ethics.” 3:12:16 PM 5/31/06 “USDA, forgot all about them! They need way more inspectors but they are also responsible as a "drug" regulatory agency. Such as Pesticides sprayed on crops..............antibiotics in animals..............#&%!$s. Way more then the FDA, the USDA is in the pockets of big Farm Corporations and need to be scrapped and built up again. And that one we can thank Mr. Clinton for. Put the FDA, USDA, and EPA together and ask, why is it OK for the Admin to influence these Agencies? Why can't they be seperate?” 3:21:19 PM 5/31/06 “I saw that AP story in our paper today, violin. I had to laugh. I knew the propaganda was coming. “…a one-time phone survey conducted between 2002 and 2003…” “Knowledge is different from opinion.” Socrates (470-399 B.C.) Wait for it. The propaganda will run for a while and then they’ll take a poll. Discussion is wonderful, but this blatant propaganda is just too funny. And they wonder why they’re losing market share. Hang out, bear. I’m enjoying the discussion, but I’m busy tonight so I can’t get into much depth. I do believe in some regulation, but I’m confused there too. One thing I am sure of: I don’t know enough to make a definitive conclusion (based on my principles) yet. I keep trying to read more about things like economics so I’ll gain a better understanding. Wow, Sarge talks to humans, amazing!!! We may not talk that way to each other but we all know the difference between an E-5 rating (rate) and an E-5 ranking. And Sarge continues to obsess. You know, I haven’t found a single post where this Sarge thing has added anything of value to a discussion of healthcare. What is it obsessing after? Does it aspire to a career as a squeaky nosed punching bag? Tufts of red hair on the sides of a bald head, little potbelly, bulbous red nose, no dick…Eureka! That’s the answer… …THAT’S WHY WE HAVEN’T SEEN A PICTURE! “Bwaaaahaha! I think my evasive strategy is working. I think they’re all fooled!” Sarge Some sage advice for Sarge (which of course it will ignore): “If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.” Will Rogers The sad thing about an obsessive compulsive like Sarge is that he most likely suffered severe abuse as a child. It would not surprise me at all to learn that he had been raped by the family dog. There is no doubt that Sarge would rape himself if he had a dick. Suppose you were an idiot...And suppose you were Sarge. But I repeat myself.” 3:54:07 PM 5/31/06 “arclite - You brought up the question, and you know you did. It was your question, which you did not know the answer to. Did I ask the question? No, I did not. You did. It is you are in the hole. You tried to prove you knew more about military terminology than I do, but as it turns out, you didn't even know how to properly use the terms. LOL!!! And again ... you continue w/ the baseless personal remarks instead of admitting I was right, and you were wrong, and apologizing for calling me a liar when I proved that what I had said was in fact true (about being away for the day). Suppose you were a hypocrite...And suppose you were arclite. But I repeat myself. There is no point in discussing anything of value with you as you will not admit failure when it's as obvious as this! Imagine when you intentionally try to mislead your opponents with false rumors instead of accidentally being wrong. It is worthless to debate you, as worthless as debating a lie.” 4:21:37 PM 5/31/06 “Sarge’s imagination resembles the wings of an ostrich.” 4:25:33 PM 5/31/06 “arclite's ability to be right and admit it resembles the testicles of a hen” 4:34:17 PM 5/31/06 “Suppose you were an idiot...And suppose you were Sarge. But I repeat myself.” 5:20:58 AM 6/02/06 “More of the same ... personal insults ... no substance. You really took that blow hard, huh arclite? Just can't seem to pull yourself together enough to admit you screwed up, that I was right, and that you were wrong about the terminology, even though you just gave us a lecture about how important correct definitions are, and you were wrong when you called me a liar, even though DnBs post of the email proves you don't have a clue. Really sad. Really sad. Funny, you were the wrong proven wrong, two out of two times, and you call me the idiot. Now that's funny!” 7:52:40 PM 6/02/06 OH CRAP....individual solutions without GOVERNMENT “Lisker was finally able to do that because she is one of a couple of hundred uninsured people who have enrolled in an innovative program called HealthAccessRI. In this program, she pays $30 a month for a “membership” in her primary care doctor’s practice, essentially keeping him on retainer. That means that even without insurance, she can get frontline medical help whenever she needs it, paying just $10 for each office visit. http://www.projo.com/news/content/HEALTH_ACCESS_01-17-08_7A8L2NU_v19.24317c9.html Imagine.... Recently, five other family-medicine practices joined, bringing to 21 the number of participating doctors. The fees vary by practice, with a monthly retainer of $25 or $30 per person (with discounts for families) and office-visit co-pays of $5 or $10. For this price, patients get all the basics of primary care: yearly physicals, well-child visits, checkups, sick visits within a day of calling, school and sports physicals, family planning, preventive health advice and a doctor to call to at any hour when they feel sick. But they have to pay out of pocket for specialty care, hospitalization, x-rays, laboratory work, prescription drugs, emergency room visits and mental-health care. The premise underlying the plan, Fine says, is that primary care is both inexpensive and effective, and for most people, it’s all they need. WHAT HAVE I KEPT SAYING...the Market will find a solution!” 6:15:27 AM 1/18/08 “$30 a month is $360 a year, plus co-pays - and offers absolutely no coverage for anything else including any drugs or even lab work. I think fairly basic lab work runs about $600 for individuals. I mean it may work for some people - but all you're doing is spreading the payments. It may work out if you're healthy, but then you'd go to the drs once or twice a year at $190 a time. So if you're healthy, you can pay $100 per visit, or $380 for one or two visits a year. The 'market' is doing you a big favor there then huh.” 6:22:48 AM 1/18/08 “HMMMM...right....well its a start, but I realize its alot easier to "find fault" and "plan failure" than look at the positives.” 6:25:54 AM 1/18/08 “$360 a year is a steal. My health insurance is close to that a month. Plus $10 - $20 copays for each office visit.” 6:30:54 AM 1/18/08 “No doubt, lumberzac” 6:32:55 AM 1/18/08 “don't get sick” 6:33:13 AM 1/18/08 “Maybe the charity donation max is raised for these situations? If so that's the taxpayer again.” 6:39:43 AM 1/18/08 “So getting a tax cut for helping reduce over all expenses (since charities routinely perform similar functions for a fraction of the red tape cost) is COSTING the taxpayer? Sorry Uncliff...just don't see the logic here....” 6:41:26 AM 1/18/08 “It's start, but I don't think it's primary care that breaks people financially. It's when a serious illness strikes and they don't have coverage or not enough coverage. It's a complex problem and I have no idea how to fix it. I think few people can afford to pay for lots of things on an out of pocket basis. PET scans can cost $3000. Lab tests can be expensive too. Chemotherapy drugs can cost thousands of dollars just for one dose of the drug and that's not even the lab work that goes along with it or even the administration of the drug. The treament can go on for months racking up huge bills. The costs are enormous with some things. last edited: 1/18/08 6:42:33 AM” 6:41:35 AM 1/18/08 “Rich, something I am really aware of is the cost of Malpractice insurance. WHY? Attorneys on both sides make LOADS off the pursuit of the case. a few years ago an attorney I knew in Texas had built a practice on DEFENSE of Malpractice claims....it employed 3 firms of 100 or more attorneys. A couple of years ago Texas capped the "punitive" damages at $250,000 (this ain't the real damages just the crap we used to see going into gazillion dollars or more). All three firms have been closed since then. IMAGINE the cost to insurance companies both defending and PAYING the claims. Lawyers ain't cheap. Now for major health cases, you can get "private insurance" with huge deductibles (think 5 grand is the usual) for major illnesses) for a relativly cheap price. The other thing I see alot is patients who go to the ER for relativly Bullshirt cases. This creates a backlog, ER costs for a "sore throat" are significantly higher (insurance for the docs, etc are higher in the ER) than access to a Gen Practice Doc. Additionally getting that $100 dollars worth of meds (or even OTC stuff that will help) for a bad case of the flu is much cheaper than the cost of hospitalization for Pneumonia or a systemic disease.” 6:50:17 AM 1/18/08 “Where I live has been called by the media as ground zero of medical malpractice and that was a few years ago. I'm not sure much has been done about and it's just one other thing that adds to the cost to everything. It seems like it just makes the whole thing even more complex.” 7:02:07 AM 1/18/08 “Don't get me wrong, incompetent or bad medicine should be punished. But I cannot think of one medical professional I have EVER known who walked into the treatment room (OR, Office, etc) who said,"I am going in here to screw up this person's life" ...that is other than pssssychologists and PSSSychiatrists who must do it to keep patients.” 7:07:21 AM 1/18/08 “A good indication of government health care is demonstrated by how they've cared for the US economy. The 'trists' and 'gists' don't try to harm. They just get blamed for lack of 'miracle skills'.” 7:15:56 AM 1/18/08 “LOL....OH MY GOD!!!!...So if you went to a doctor (real one not the play doctors in the Psych field) with say...a broken leg, and he kept giving you pain meds without ever actually TREATING the fracture....that would be GOOD medicine...or your fault? WTF are you taking ....I am guessing you have a Trist or Gist who gives you good excuses for being a failure?” 7:28:42 AM 1/18/08 “A leg does not draw an opinion of it's own self worth, or , have I been missing since doctors treated patients instead of lawyers and backpacking site monkeys? last edited: 1/18/08 7:42:42 AM” 7:42:33 AM 1/18/08 ““$360 a year is a steal. My health insurance is close to that a month. Plus $10 - $20 copays for each office visit.” lumberzac 6:30:54 AM 1/18/08 But this isn't health insurance - this will basically cover them weighing you, taking your blood pressure, and a chat with the dr. It's not even going to cover bloodwork. “HMMMM...right....well its a start, but I realize its alot easier to "find fault" and "plan failure" than look at the positives.” XL400236 6:25:54 AM 1/18/08 But this is not a 'market solution' it's very very limited coverage that will represent value to a tiny number of people, who still can't afford to get sick of contract any ongoing illness. It is something and I can see a case where it may be worthwhile for someone who maybe needs to gets scripts renewed on a regular basis, for an ongoing but not critical condition. If you have to make regular visits to the dr anyway - but what's the betting they'll find some way of getting people off the accepted list for 'pre-existing conditions'.” 7:51:41 AM 1/18/08 “Medical malpractice awards are the reason the Delta area of MS can't get Doctors. The juries there have been awarding hugh fees for nothing. FREE money. FREE money. FREE money. Turns out, it's not too FREE. Very few Doctors will now set foot in that region. Very little health care at any price.” 8:12:30 AM 1/18/08 “The Prez wants to give away money to boost the economy--He'll never think about stopping paycheck deductions one week a month to get the money down where it's needed. Give the rich an emergency tax cut.” 8:20:27 AM 1/18/08 “SS - Rarely can so much BS come out of one mouth. They are not there because you've created a system where profit comes before patients and they can all make more money elsewhere. So on type of insurance people rips you off and they're scum. Another type pays out, mainly because you're on a group plan, and suddenly they're great. Try looking beyond yourself for once in your life. last edited: 1/18/08 8:21:37 AM” 8:21:07 AM 1/18/08 “Just once, I would like to see a post without a slur from y2. .....and he's clueless as to why I don't respect him. last edited: 1/18/08 8:25:01 AM” 8:23:18 AM 1/18/08 “Y2, do you agree with that fat disgusting slob of a walking heart attack Michael Moore that there should be *no* profits involved in health care?” 8:51:07 AM 1/18/08 “I was right. Only tax payers get money back and most of them have enough already.” 8:52:25 AM 1/18/08 “Sorry, I thought you were talking about that fat discusting walking heart attack and OD risk Rush Limbaugh. No I don't btw - I think that wouldn't work here. It's a tough one. One of my neighbors is a surgeon from Boston. Nice guy. Has a huge house in Boston and has literally spent millions on a waterfront property here, spending amost as much again on completely renovating it. Has several $100k cars that he drives up here on the weekend. Now I realize I'm going to get slammed for jealousy or something - though I am a little torn on it. On the one hand he studdied hard for many many years to get where he is and deserves the success - on the other he's paying for this out of the healthcare system. Don't get me wrong - Drs deserve to be well paid, and they are in most countries in the world - but there are many many people making a lot of money out of healthcare - and he's one of the most deserving cases out there, making one of the lower sums. SS - I don't care whether you respect me. You're on here goading people all day every day, and you seem to expect people to be nice to you. Last night's attack went too far, but if you act like an ass all day every day for several years, someone is going to go off on you.” 9:00:35 AM 1/18/08 “He also says he'd like to move here full-time but can't because he'll make only a fraction the money he can in the city.” 9:06:34 AM 1/18/08 “Moore Limbaugh moore. Whooooooray for Owwwwwkkk sisters with the blisters.” 9:09:31 AM 1/18/08 “What goes around, comes around.” 9:20:41 AM 1/18/08 “SS - I don't care whether you respect me. Wasn't mapleleaf just warned for making threats? The Ends always justify the Means for socialists. last edited: 1/18/08 11:28:05 AM” 11:25:20 AM 1/18/08 Jump to Page << prev
