“Has anybody seen this show on TLC? It's a pretty cool show, I've seen 3 episodes so far. I'm not that big on TV but this is a pretty good show.

Shalom in the Home is a weekly one-hour prime-time program that helps families overcome their thorniest problems. The program is hosted by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, an Oxford-trained theologian and philosopher who’s written a dozen-plus books on relationships and families and counseled thousands of people through difficulties with marriage, parenting, sex and self-worth.”

This was the article that got me curious about the guy.He claims to be another one of these "advisors" to celebrities, and to help kids. He's gotten the British version of a "cease and desist" concerning Oxford and his whole L'chaim group, which he has yet to do. I suck at internet searches for stuff, so it'll take me a while to dig this stuff up.”

actually, he's already done one show with a single mom w/ two kids and a show with 2 lesbians and two kids...he's one of the most open minded "churchies" i've seen”

“wow, that's good to know tree...but it's important to remember that these are just allegations and this story is over 3 years old, i think something would have came of it by now...it's hard to tell from the way the page is set up but isn't this an editorial?...i'll keep my ear open for anything further but it doesn't take away anything from it being a good show and him giving good advice”

“Shmuley was a Chabad rabbi and the focus of Chabad is to bring Jews back to Judaism and observance. Shmuley was also a big attraction to Gentiles because of his openness. Chabad Lubavitcher felt he was spending too much time on the Gentiles. Then he invited Yitzhak Rabin to come speak at Oxford and the Chabad Rebbe forbid it because of Rabin’s land for peace ethics. They kicked him out. He has no restraining orders. His banning was by the United Synagogues. He is simply orthodox now and has not led a congregation since. Unlike Christian church leaders a rabbi’s ultimate job is not to lead a synagogue. Rabbi means “teacher” and that’s what he does.

The troubles with money fall upon James Meiskin, one of the directors of La Chiam, Arash Farin and Avri Vantman also directors. He has never even been charged legally with any wrong doing.

He has had relationships with people most church leaders would never have like Michael Jackson and Al Sharpton. But this does not make him crooked or bad. It just means he doesn’t turn anyone away.”
