Probably do the West Rim Trail in PA, starting with a night hike into the Pine Creek Campsite Friday night.

it's been a horrible week and I won't be backpacking this weekend, with the exception of a tiny little overnighter tonight with crazypace.

Next week will be an all out trip. I'm really leaning towards the WRT. Total hike will be around 30 miles.

You need a "serious" trip? I don't know if you can get that on the East coast, but I'm sure we could arrange one for you in CO :)

I'll be kayaking in the pine barrens that weekend. A nice lazy trip down a slow moving stream. If you want to take it easy instead the trip is posted on the other side.

What, our 64 mile trip wasn't serious enuff? I'd love to do the WRT with ya, but I have to be home late Saturday afternoon. I might take Friday off and do that Dacks trip if the weather is good.

Didya do the William Penn last night? Today I ran the Gap Loop (formerly the Pennsy Loop) twice. 2 times up Tammany and 21+ miles in 4hrs 20 minutes. Me dogs are barkin.

This song is stuck in my head: "You're so vain, you probably think this trail is about you, don't you?"

BS - if it makes you feel better, since you're responsible for naming the trail, the Gap Loop is a modified version of the Pennsy Loop. When I run the trail, I stay on the Sunfish Pond Fireroad Trail to avoid the nasty rocks on the AT around SP. I also finish via the AT rather than the Dunnfield because it's more runner friendly.

Ahhhh Bison. Dani & I have talked. DC seems to be getting more annoying by the minute. She likes and has friends in the PNW. She also would like North Carolina, lots of work for her there.

I'm thinking the Southwest.........maybe the PNW.

But it all might be a dream.

That makes sense, those rocks are murder on the feet!

BM, DENVER! PNW is too wet, the southwest is too dry, Colorado is just right. BTW I'm posting this from your 'hood.

Sorry we hijacked your thread ENS.

DUDE!
Let's do Northeast PA so that I can jump out either Saturday night or early Sunday morning and I'll join ya...

This way, I could still get to my dad's in upstate NY for Fathers Day...

the West Rim Trail is the leading contender. We're going to probably camp on Pine Creek on the old MST Friday night after a late night shuttle. Saturday, hike as far as our trail-worthy legs will take us, and on Sunday, we should hope to conclude the expedition wwith trekking poles spiked.

one of these days I will do that. Weekend's too short to get down there, but, I'm thinking of doing the entire smokies on the AT in 4 days sometime, 5 if I try and get some sixers along the way.

On a friends request a challenge a few years ago, myself and 3 others did the GSMNP traverse in 3 days; Thursday night to Sunday afternoon. I wore trailrunners that were too small and got blisters and lost 5 toenails. My feet never hurt so bad, before or after. Next request... non stop.
