“Speaking of mohawk ...

My 7 year old came in today and said he wanted a mohawk. I said, "Sure!" and hooked him up. I cut both my boys hair so he knew I was serious. 10 minutes later he was sporting what I think was a rather well done mohawk, neatly trimmed and even on the slides... everything I think a mohawk should be. My wife came in and rather than freak (the expected reaction) she said it was the coolest looking haircuts she had ever seen... she was probably just trying to make him feel good, but all the other kids were excited.

He refused to go outside once it was done and cried with real tears begging me to cut it off. I asked him what I did wrong. Wasn't it a proper mohawk? I know dads are often uncool and don't understand what their sons really want. He said no, it's what he wanted but now it's not what he wants anymore. I had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing my azz off.

So I neatly trimmed the top off. He has VERY short hair now and appears to be lovin' it.

Waaaay back in High School the wrestling coach said I had to cut my hair (it was almost to my shoulders)or I couldn't compete.

I showed up the next day with a Mohawk. He wasn't happy, told me I couldn't wrestle till it grew out.

I showed up the next day with my head shaved.

I switched to the swim team.
