We get lost cell phones pretty often here and usually call the numbers in the phone to find out who's it is.

Or someone shows up pretty quick looking for it.

That is pretty cool what he's doing. I am interested to see how it turns out.

I just read every bit of that. This is a great story. It links the internet life (my space, forums, etc.), today's "i got mine" morality, slack cops pissed that they have to do their job, immigration woes, potential race issues, and so many other twists.

I wonder how fast the flash will burn away and be forgotten. If this guy is truly doing it for the "morality" of it he has a great opportunity to turn this into something worthwile.

That dude is on a mission! The phone would never be that important to me, but I still like what he's doing.

I read the whole thing too. It was very interesting, and quite entertaining. I'm curious to know how this all turns out. I think the guy pursuing this has gotten quite full of himself though from reading the progression of threads.

No updates yet today, I'm guessing he's finally getting some real work done. Hyway, you summed it up well.

its actually kind of demoralizing in a way. this guy has spent unquantifiable amounts of time, money, and energy into getting justice done, only to be no closer than when he started, and lots of derision from the local boys in blue. if he does not get it back, it will be a complete failure. if he does, it will be a complete success

people still suck

LOL, years ago I had three wastes of human skin steal my wallet out of the weight room. Thankfully they threw the cards away but the thought they would be cool and keep my badge.
One lovely night they get pulled over...junior flashes the badge. The cop takes a look and asks junior if that is his badge...Junior tells him it is...then the cop informs him he knows the Lieutenant with that Badge number...and Junior AIN'T it.
The best part...they search the car and JUNIOR gets some time doing the Shower stall samaba (1 year).

Has anyone else checked out the rest of Evan's web site? He definitely has a penchant for models and parties. ;) More power to him. My guess is he's at a rehearsal dinner tonight.

I just noticed that while there hasn't been any new updates, he has changed the format a bit and he has deleted the portion that was directed to the Corona crew. Makes me wonder what is going on.

I had kinda a Seinfeld moment about 8 or so years ago. I had my beeper stolen while playing softball one day. I called the number, and the stupid kid who stole it actually returned the page!! When he called me and then hung up, I did *69 and called his number right back. His father was pissed!!

I found a really nice digital pager on the Mason Dixon Trail in PA years ago and called motorola to trace it back to its owner. The guy was so grateful, since he had just gotten it through work. I had it in the mail to him and returned within a week of its "wandering off."

this one time, in band camp...
i mean, on the AT, another thru left their cell behind at harpers ferry hostel. somebody called one of the numbers (i think it was the hikers mother) so that they could let the owner know where to retrieve it from. well, the person on the other end kept prattling on about stupid sht, and the battery died before the contact info was ever given, and no charger to re-charge the phone with. oh well, the effort was made. i dunno if the phone ever got back to its owner. hopefully he figured out where he left it
