south: ocala national forest, florida

east: katahdin (technically, it would be I-95 on the drive home, but fooey on that)

west: long beach (and vicinity), california (furthest west backpacking is grand canyon national park, arizona)

Ya CB - I'd have to include other types of vacations to have found myself on the east coast of North America. I really must find some time to reach a bit further in that direction. I can see Colorado nearing the top of my list for a hiking trip

I'll be interested to see just how far west most TTers have come. I suspect that many will have been as far as the continental divide, or the Sierras, and then have stopped before seeing what's out here on the coast

There's a "West" Coast? I've been to California but I ever saw a Coast.

I'm thinking my "South" is not so South. Is Shenendoah South?

We are talking Backpack, right? GNP & YNP would be North & West. 'Dacks would be East.

Well I really didn't backpack Antigua, but I did hike back and forth from the beach bar to the pool bar.........

Well if hiking back and forth counts....

N: Isle Royale, MI
E: Roaring Plains W. Va
W: Grand canyon, AZ
S: Drum roll....I think W. Va too. Unless KY is lower.

I also need a map.

It feels so nice to not have anyone around to tear me up for being fuzzy on my geography. Ahhhh. =)

East/West - Can't say - I went around the world so can't tell where one begins and one ends. I did do some hiking in Japan, (climbed Fuji twice) - and some in China (for example: walking along an unmaintained section of the Great Wall).

North - Anchorage. (Farthest North hiking was Nova Scotia).

South: Sydney Australia (did some hiking North of there in Townsville). On this continent it would be somewhere south of Mexico City.

ped, if you had to fly westward to get there, then you can count it as your furthest west, and vice versa
