“me and smokygirl just got back from our Chatooga River trip. Great time...Monsum like rain, tarps, swiming in the river, and fire.

“Hey MarkO, how are yo making out with all the rain? Flooding affecting you at all?”

“I drove 45 miles in driving rain last night arriving home at the moment when night fell.

There have been some serious floods around here and we are keeping our basement dry.......so far.”

“Good to hear, hope you stay above water.”

“That was some nice river leisure! If it had to rain, it rained at perfect times. Just need to avoid the dang splashing of run-off from the tarp next time.
The Chattooga is absolutely beautiful and the bug to do the Foothills Trail has now begun! Thanks for the million-dollar pizza and ice cream, Gabi! Now I know what yuppies in Southwestern North Carolina eat!”

Oh, and I award the Fire medal to Gabi for her stupendous mini-fire after a monsoon of rain of which dedication made the mini-fire a roaring hot fire that would have melted glass - even in between downpours! Unbelievable!”

“another oh... and my thoughts go to the poor slug that got his faced burned off by Gabi's cooking alcohol. Hate slug, love slug, hate slug, love... Hate slug!

...and mean thoughts go to the group of people upstream that had a ridiculous barking dog. Why, oh why bring a ridiculous barking dog making incessant noise on a popular trail? If I wanted to hear barking dogs, I would camp in a subdivision...”

“I just admonished myself. If I want to ensure no barking or annoying dogs on the trail, I should go to the Smokies. Nice thing about Chattooga Trail is you do not have to fill out permit, etc.”
