Along with the Commerce Dept. in another twist of irony, there will be no FEMA assistance to those whose houses are destroyed or severly damaged by rain due to lack of overall damage to the region.

Irony or Red Tape. Not sure which fits. Maybe "bad luck" is best?

Um....bm...you know that to get insurance assistance for FLOODING you have to get FLOOD insurance....

Secondly why does the fact that you are improperly prepared give you the right to rob at gunpoint some guy in Wisconsin?

So FEMA only helps those who are insured?

Because I'm "robbed at gunpoint" for people who "choose" to live in the Mississippi Flood Plain, or Tornado Alley, or how about Hurricane prone South/South East Coast?

That is not FEMA's job...well it is now in the MOMMY Government land.

I agree, when someone in tornado alley or earthquake central gets hit....if they have insurance they get it. But if you have Fire Insurance and get flooded...you lose.
I cannot tell you the number of house fires I see where twitball has no insurance. Their first question is "Can i get some gov'ment money to help me rebuild?"

IMHO....I say this is the perfect time to close the IRS, pass HR25 and get the Fair Tax going...if they aren't there...they aren't necessary.

BTW - homeowners insurance really confuses me. For exqample, Does one have to get "avalanche insurance" to cover a roof caving in due to snow accumulation?

RIGHT ON! We should start by privatizing all fire departments.
