Help, I need a map.

I have a buddy that is teaching a map and compass class. He needs a USGS Topo map, 7.5, from back East that has a declination of about 5°. It needs to be from the East Coast so when they figure declination they will have to add 5° instead of subtracting it. He wants to see if they are paying attention (we're on the West Coast)

Does anyone have a 7.5 map that shows the declination in the lower corner? Something I can download and print out?

This site might be useful. The maps are old, but that shouldn't matter for what you're using them for.

Actually, something in NG Topo would be perfect. With the box's checked in the "page set up"

Scale bar
North Arrow
Grid Labels
Header

Can ya help a brother?

Lumberzac, thanks...thats close. I cant seem to get a whole map on one page. I'll see if I can add all 4 corners to make a map. I'll check out the site some more.

The best I can do is extreme western NY, which has a declination of 10*. Will that work?

All of the east declination is least...or less than 0°

Remember the declination rhyme; west is best(+°), east is least(-°) of 0°

lol. cute. perhaps a bit sad too....as I have a feeling this is what most people (esp. people of my own age) think of geography. but entertaining nonetheless.

I think that's dead on with most of Americans. Funny though!

we are self centered, but how many other countries provide as much aid as we do when someone has a problem?
