Foster Falls Camping?

Going to Foster Falls next weekend for some light camping with the family. Is there a campsite near the falls? I found talk of one on a climbing site, but the park says the nearest backcountry site is about 2.5 miles down the Gizzard Trail.

Any ideas? Thanks!

The campsite 2.5 miles in is "Little Wilds" campsite I believe. I haven't stayed there, just hiked past it. But it looks like it has a really nice view. The campsite itself is set back a ways, but there is a pretty good lookout point where the campsite trail turns off the Gizzard Trail.

There's a TVA campground there at the Falls, isn't there? It's just not open all year 'round.

Yah. Here's some info.

Thanks. I think I'll hike in to Little Wilds. The TVA campsite seems a bit too cushy for my ass. Toilets and heated showers? Who needs that?

Does anyone have any pics of the small wilds campsite at Fiery Gizzard?

Here are a few from TownDawg's website The pics are of Titanium Chef, so you will just have to look in the background to check out the campsite.

Thanks, but none of the pics are loading. All corrupt. Anything else?

Isn't there also a backpacking campsite just about a 1/2 mile from the parking lot on the trail that leads to the Small Wilds area. Seems like I have seen one there.

Father Adamz Campsite is the closer campsite you are referring to. http://friendsofscsra.org/ is the Friends of the South Cumberland Recreation Area website....it has quite a bit of detailed info on the area.
