Starting Sunday after church, I'm headed to the woods for a week of church camp with 700 plus kids. My mission is to supply ice, water, and guidance to the counselors who will be sharing cabins with these lovely creatures. Bring: aspirin, chocolate, coffee, sunburn lotion, bug spray......etc. Oh, yeah, do you sing?? I feel more like a psychiatrist than a "Dean Of Men".

I never went to Church Camp but Birch did. It's where he learned alot of his outdoors skills.

Chappy, enjoy yourself!

And this one time at church camp...

Have a great time! I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the kids.

I've been a counselor & adult leader at church camps. It can be a great time, although the kids can be a bit challenging--as well as the counselors.

Oh, the stories!

Have a great time!

Thanks all....I really have a great time there. One year the kiddos spiked my hair and colored it blue for the Thursday night dance. I wore a hawaiian shirt, blue jeans and sandals, with "love beads". LOL. Those kids sure like them "progressive" preachers.....

I never went to any kind of a camp. No need, we lived where all the camp kids went to. I do remember that when the kids from the Herzl camp came to swim in our lake, we held their heads under water for long periods of time. I'm sure they're the better for it.

LOL...in college I remember one of the LATE night BS sessions (with illegal beer) we got into a discussion of Summer Camps. Seemed we all went to Camp Unga or some other indian (SOOORY PRE Columbian American) themed camp...

One of our classmates was a honest to goodness Resident of a Reservation in the West....LOL...we are sitting there with the kids describing Bow and Arrow, making moccasins...I look at Bill and ask, "Do Indian kids go to camp?"

He didn't bat an eye...just real deadpan he says,"Yeah we went to places like Camp Levinowitz and learned to balance two sets of books, run wholesale dealerships and make cucmber sandwiches."

Church Camp always brought out the Devil in my nephews, LOL.

Pranks took up just about all their time.

a few years back, when us counselors were having a meeting in a small room with the camp director, I took a small vial (i had confiscated from a kid) that was 'liquid farts' and silently opened it and set it in a corner i was sittin by. First the looks, then the place emptied out....following year the 'rules' read "no offending or obnoxious odors"....etc. LOL.
