tomorrow is when I get the help that I need to clean out this old womans house. there will be five of us. she is a hoarder of over 50 cats. they have lived in her house for the last ten years while she has lived in a one room cat free.
no a/c, no fans. everytime i open wondows she closes them. it will be hot and smelly.

115 outside means at least 120 to 125 inside. this will not be good. I think I will ask if we can do this another day. we can not do it at night because she has no eletric :(”

“it was so hot in the womans house. i went to the attic and i was hit with a hot burn. what i mean is, it was so hot up there that i felt like it was pure fire.
after 18 cats and two hours (done in two trips) i had enough and found the nearst water sprinkler. i stood under it till i was dripping wet. yes in full unifrom. i plan on doing it again to day and tomorrow till the house is rid of cats.”

We lost power last night. It kinda hummed at half power for a few seconds so I ran around unplugging everything. It came back on but reset our thermastat to 85°. No ne slept well last night. Tomorrow is our cool off back to seventy something. I can't wait!!”

“Sassy, when Rita hit our area last year we went four days without power/water. It was quite exciting around here. I kept a piece of cardboard in my hand at night to wake up and fan myself and my wife off then go back to sleep. There was no breeze and it was about 98 outside. I feel for ya.”

“Sass, we had no a/c either. I grew up in the Appalachian foothills of Pa. Hell, you didn't need a/c then, just open the windows and sleep good, cept in winter. We had a fuel oil funace in the basement.”

“sass when i first walked in I almost passed out :( but then I got my face mask and I was able to hadle the smell. twignut offered to help me today. made me pround since this is her day off and she should be at the pool or lake and not at a hot stinky flea invested poop smelling pee cat house with dead animals everywhere. not enjoying me job right now :(”

“arclite, misses your post yesterday. It was in the mid 80's yesterday at the house. I played a tennis match yesterday at an indoor court and it was 88 degrees, but at least the sun wasn't beating down on us.

It was 75 this morning when I walked the dog at 6 AM. It looks like this may just be the hottest day of the year...97 forecast.

“I just watched the local news; 2 stations are reporting the temperature is at 97 right now, a third reads 100 degrees, and a 4th had their thermometer outside the station break. Go figure on that.

The local power comapny has started begging people to keep extraneous electronic devices off, the lights off or down, and to please edge the AC temperature up; they're that close to a blowout.

My mother in law is a music teacher; the teachers all reported back to school this week. Her school has yet to turn on/ repair the ac for the music room. They said it'll be taken care of some time next week, after all the kids are back. The thermometer in her classroom read 97 by 11 am. She finished what she had to do in the staff room, and told the principal basket case she won't use the room until it is repaired.”

“Two days ago we set a new temp record, yesterday we tied it. I am so friggin sick of this weather. Work is unbearable. The buidlings are locked down with everything closed (windows etc) and the ventilation systems shut down to conserve power, very stuffy and durn hot. I have been drinking at least 1gal of water per day at work and am still thirsty.

I have a VERY patient customer waiting for his new furnace to be installed (the old one is wrecked) so he has no A/C, he and his wife arent happy. But they know that by waiting till sept they will get a 30% discount. I put a window unit in their room the other day.

this might be the last day of the heat wave. im not sure if i can take another high heat day. my body hurts all over. my bones hurt my head hurts. im soo tired.

in two days we have only gotten 20 cats out of the house. its so bad in there :(

but on a side note I need to brag about my daughter. it was her day off and she offered to help me. i was waiting for "pi$$y hiker" to appear but she never did. i am soooo proud of her.”
