So, you??????????” 2:34:59 PM 7/14/06 “double digits? is that all you got?” 2:35:51 PM 7/14/06 “oops, triple digits! nice one, Mata...I've been up since 3am...that's my excuse...work for you? LOL...it's gonna be in the HUNDREDS! last edited: 7/14/06 2:45:30 PM” 2:44:17 PM 7/14/06 “LOL, thats what i thought you meant - same here - sposed to break into triples, i don't knwo if it got there, but it had to be close!” 2:46:32 PM 7/14/06 “I'm planning to return to Florida to cool-off. GSMNP has been too hot and humid. I've been spending most of my time driving around with the A/C going full blast.” 2:49:18 PM 7/14/06 “Ain't so bad if you got a swimming pool handy. Come visit us. It's only in the 70's today.” 2:50:16 PM 7/14/06 “headed to copper falls for a NCT work crew when sunshine gets home, yuck” 2:57:18 PM 7/14/06 “hot and humid here, sucks. Running is unbearable. I've got winter in my blood.” 3:16:05 PM 7/14/06 “We were heading to CopperFalls to camp this weekend; but my friends' truck died. Too hot to cook over a fire anyway! I did suggest the shores of Lake Superior to the kids, we may head up there Sunday for the day.” 3:33:44 PM 7/14/06 “when the dewpoint is like it is now it's really dangerous as your body cannot cool down by sweating...you risk heatstroke bigtime when the humidity is so high and temps are in the TRIPLE digits...LOL...be careful out there!” 3:35:30 PM 7/14/06 “it's going to be hot here in Ole Pennsiltucky too, hopefully backpacking in the Catskills above 3000 feet will ease some of the heat.” 3:39:12 PM 7/14/06 “It's 95 and stifling. I'm going to find a nice, dark, air conditioned casino.” 3:48:49 PM 7/14/06 “Forecasted to be 97 with 3000% humidity in Mid-Michigan on Monday. I'll be inside the air conditioned library, doing my homework. Lucky me! I'll take any 0-degree day over this nasty heat and humidity.” 5:42:15 PM 7/14/06 “What? This is normal summer weather for me. ;P” 6:11:13 PM 7/14/06 Yea, but it's a dry heat “I certainly don't envy those of you that have to deal with the high humidity. We hit 119° (low humidity) a couple weeks ago and it was hot, but bearable. A couple days later the temp dropped to only 107° but 60%/70% humidity and man that sucked. I'll take the extreme high heat with low humidity to that 70+% crap any time. Right now it's 102° and 11% humidity, not bad. It's supposed to be around 109° by Sunday. last edited: 7/14/06 7:30:40 PM” 7:29:29 PM 7/14/06 “the a/c in my office decided to freeze up and the vent in the ceiling behind my desk started to leak the water from the thaw. It was hotter than billy blazes here.” 7:42:29 PM 7/14/06 “I attended a conference once in Alburqurque (sp) and it was 114... but there was no humitity! It was so amazing!” 8:19:33 PM 7/14/06 “Thermometer in my vehicle read 120 the other night coming home on the freeway. In the 'burbs it was 114.” 10:24:45 PM 7/14/06 “I am starting to hate the summer :( it is different when you are in an A/C building. but driving without the A/C for 8 hours a day is getting to me. I was chasing an iguana for an hour the other day and almost passed out. never got the little bugger :( its going to be in the high 90's next week. if one more person offers me a dip in there pool IM GOING IN!! iniform and all” 7:03:00 AM 7/15/06 “Yeah, running in this stuff stinks. I ran a couple hours ago and it was already warm and muggy. I was covered in sweat. ick. I have some errands to run today. But, for the most part, I can see me staying indoors for a majority of the day and tomorrow. Low 90s today and high 90s tomorrow. 80%+ humidity.” 7:46:56 AM 7/15/06 “ "It was hotter than billy blazes here."Ha! I think that means "It was hotter than hell here."” 8:05:01 AM 7/15/06 “family is going to the lake. dogs and all!” 8:09:56 AM 7/15/06 “Well I am spending my B-Day on duty at the Station. The officer on the Ladder Truck went out sick....turns out I am the only officer they could find....on the positive side it will be a nice balmy 10+ Heat Stress FACTOR today....Should be a hoot.” 9:07:27 AM 7/15/06 Beat the Heat “On the weekends (when dad isn't working), my parents take their boat to meet all sorts of their lake friends at the end of the lake. They socialize, play water volleyball, drink beer, etc. I'm loading my kayak onto my car and am headed to their beach. I'm going to 'yak to the end of the lake and meet them.” 9:54:35 AM 7/15/06 “Yak on, sister!” 10:10:31 AM 7/15/06 Typical woman... “Yak, yak, yak;)” 10:19:30 AM 7/15/06 “just checked the thermometer on the North side of the house which never sees sun...it read 102F at noon...from now on, it'll start to warm up...yak yak, tara...too hot here to even consider it...I expect to hear many helicopters this week-end, which fly very low over our house, taking folks into the Twin Cities hospitals...probably have at least one drowning..last week some Dad tried to swim from the Wisconsin side of the Interstate Park to the Minnesota side with his friends...that's below the dam...like most of the St Croix River, you can pretty much walk across it until you get to the original channel...then, watch out! He didn't realize how fast the river was and drowned trying to swim 40 feet...pretty common...a few will die jumping off the cliffs into the river, falling off the cliffs onto the rocks and swimming...and, being really hot, the Interstate Park gets full of folks from the Twin Cities...” 11:10:20 AM 7/15/06 “Its 96 here and its not even 11:30 yet!” 11:18:37 AM 7/15/06 “Jungle weather in Baltimore.” 12:38:16 PM 7/15/06 “It's too hot here. I just returned to the library to keep cool for a while. Cheers.” 12:42:32 PM 7/15/06 “I'm replacing windows in my house... I have probably drank 3-4 liters of water already.” 1:20:14 PM 7/15/06 “105 at 2:00 with a blast furnace breeze reminiscent of the Santa Anna winds in Southern California.” 2:19:16 PM 7/15/06 “"I have probably drank 3-4 liters of water already." Geez, the heat must have your grammar pretty well addled!” 2:43:30 PM 7/15/06 “Just got home and its 92. After I finish my beer its outside to weed the veggies, pick what's there and mow. I still have to run one more day this week. I may be stuck in the gym on the hamster wheel though. Tomorrow its supposed to hit a billion degrees.” 2:49:50 PM 7/15/06 “Now its 105...” 3:38:48 PM 7/15/06 “Whuddaya, braggin'?” 3:40:52 PM 7/15/06 “the 20mph wind actually helps! It dries the sweat...I do what I did in India...I wear long, loose cool cotton pants with a shirt with 3/4 sleeves that's also loose and cotton..with a hat, it wasn't too bad as I inspected the crafts along the street..most of them closed up shop early as it's just too hot...now they're getting ready for the parade...I do think I'll try and catch the fireworks...” 4:11:09 PM 7/15/06 “friggin HOT in Denver - 104 just a few minutes ago. I think we're having our heatwave now. This is about 110 degrees warmer than our coldest day back in February!” 4:19:44 PM 7/15/06 “Roamie - 15 degrees above zero would do that in NW Wisconsin.” 4:42:23 PM 7/15/06 “we certainly do have temperature variances during the year in NW Wisconsin...I remember one winter where it was -34F and that summer it hit 104F...I believe that means we had a variance of 106 degrees in one year...anyone else come close to that? last edited: 7/15/06 6:18:10 PM” 6:17:37 PM 7/15/06 “It got up to the high 80's today in Hanover, NH. Came back home to the higher elevation and it was only around 80. It was soooo hot! ;-)” 7:54:14 PM 7/15/06 “May be only 14'er you ever climb be on a gorilla.” 8:05:51 PM 7/15/06 “me hot? nope not anymore :) we all just got back from the lake. it was so nice out today” 9:27:41 PM 7/15/06 “So, last night it never dropped below 77F...plus it rained 1/4 of an inch which we really needed but now the sun is coming out, it's supposed to be hotter today than yesterday so NOW we have humidity to go with that heat...I'm thinking yesterday's 102F will look comfortable by the time today ends...” 12:40:02 PM 7/16/06 “We got a little rain last night too. Today seems to be a failure compared to yesterday, if you're looking for the dry, parched, scorching, blast furnace heat. I don't think we hit 90, but it was still rugged with the humidity. It's still quite overcast and that does provide some relief.” 2:47:14 PM 7/16/06 “We had a high of 95 today, and miserable humidity. Then, at 4, we had a brief afternoon shower; enough so that your sweat won't dry and all the sand will now stick to your shoes. Bleah. Now we have dry lightning. Joy.” 3:02:52 PM 7/16/06 “http://www.cnn.com/2006/WEATHER/07/16/heat.wave.ap/index.html Dang, guys in the midwest and further out, watch the heat. 101 in Denver? That's crazy.” 4:34:54 PM 7/16/06 “Heat index reached over 100 here today. I've been indoors all day so far, though. We're headed out to a BBQ and glow golf for the evening. Temps are still in the 90's, heading toward 7PM. Tomorrow will be just as bad.” 4:36:45 PM 7/16/06 “Thank God there's no such thing as global warming; we'd really be catching hell then.” 4:37:11 PM 7/16/06 “106°/5% Nice” 6:08:13 PM 7/16/06
