“We're headed into double digits if the weather liars are not wrong...trust me folks, this is not normal for NW Wisconsin...plus, we've had no measureable rain for almost a month and yet the humidity is 70...oh yeah, you can forget about me backpacking in this weather...however, it is the perfect time to be on the shores of Lake Superior, I'll bet...and I mean on the shores...1/4 mile inland and you might as well be here...

“I certainly don't envy those of you that have to deal with the high humidity. We hit 119° (low humidity) a couple weeks ago and it was hot, but bearable. A couple days later the temp dropped to only 107° but 60%/70% humidity and man that sucked.

I'll take the extreme high heat with low humidity to that 70+% crap any time.

Right now it's 102° and 11% humidity, not bad. It's supposed to be around 109° by Sunday.

“the a/c in my office decided to freeze up and the vent in the ceiling behind my desk started to leak the water from the thaw. It was hotter than billy blazes here.”

I have some errands to run today. But, for the most part, I can see me staying indoors for a majority of the day and tomorrow. Low 90s today and high 90s tomorrow. 80%+ humidity.”

“Well I am spending my B-Day on duty at the Station. The officer on the Ladder Truck went out sick....turns out I am the only officer they could find....on the positive side it will be a nice balmy 10+ Heat Stress FACTOR today....Should be a hoot.”

“On the weekends (when dad isn't working), my parents take their boat to meet all sorts of their lake friends at the end of the lake. They socialize, play water volleyball, drink beer, etc.

I'm loading my kayak onto my car and am headed to their beach. I'm going to 'yak to the end of the lake and meet them.”

“just checked the thermometer on the North side of the house which never sees sun...it read 102F at noon...from now on, it'll start to warm up...yak yak, tara...too hot here to even consider it...I expect to hear many helicopters this week-end, which fly very low over our house, taking folks into the Twin Cities hospitals...probably have at least one drowning..last week some Dad tried to swim from the Wisconsin side of the Interstate Park to the Minnesota side with his friends...that's below the dam...like most of the St Croix River, you can pretty much walk across it until you get to the original channel...then, watch out! He didn't realize how fast the river was and drowned trying to swim 40 feet...pretty common...a few will die jumping off the cliffs into the river, falling off the cliffs onto the rocks and swimming...and, being really hot, the Interstate Park gets full of folks from the Twin Cities...”

It dries the sweat...I do what I did in India...I wear long, loose cool cotton pants with a shirt with 3/4 sleeves that's also loose and cotton..with a hat, it wasn't too bad as I inspected the crafts along the street..most of them closed up shop early as it's just too hot...now they're getting ready for the parade...I do think I'll try and catch the fireworks...”

“we certainly do have temperature variances during the year in NW Wisconsin...I remember one winter where it was -34F and that summer it hit 104F...I believe that means we had a variance of 106 degrees in one year...anyone else come close to that?

“So, last night it never dropped below 77F...plus it rained 1/4 of an inch which we really needed but now the sun is coming out, it's supposed to be hotter today than yesterday so NOW we have humidity to go with that heat...I'm thinking yesterday's 102F will look comfortable by the time today ends...”

“We got a little rain last night too. Today seems to be a failure compared to yesterday, if you're looking for the dry, parched, scorching, blast furnace heat. I don't think we hit 90, but it was still rugged with the humidity. It's still quite overcast and that does provide some relief.”
