Beyond Fleece
MtnSteve was walking around totally warm and comfortable in a snowstorm wearing Beyond Fleece while I was layered in everything I owned and still cold! I tried this fleece out on a REI Winterfest weekend here in the Cascades and I'm a believer now too! Turns out this is made right here in Eugene, Oregon. I recommend their products highly!

Eugene, OR - July 19th, 2006 -
Beyond is celebrating its 10th birthday! In July of 1996, Beyond began creating custom garments that are now known throughout the world as the finest custom made outdoor clothing available.

Beyond uses a technical system of mass customization, that allows its diverse product line to be fully customized for color, options, and fit. Basic styles of fleece are available, yet a customer is able to custom create some of the most advanced Soft Shell garments ever created.

"We are proud to be the leader in a growing market. I believe high end customization is the next revolution within the clothing industry and is even more important within the outdoors." - Scott Jones, Founder and Lead Design

Mr. Jones began the process of customization in 1996 while attending college at the University of Oregon. The advanced proprietary technology that has been developed since then is revolutionary. From the website, where you can see what your jacket will look like, to software that customizes every measurement separately, the process is incredible yet simple and comforting to the consumer.

About Mass Customization -
Tseng and Jiao define mass customization as "producing goods and services to meet individual customer's needs with near mass production efficiency". Beyond has become a leading expert on this type of offering, and has taken customization well past the level of other companies. Through collaboration between Beyond, and the customer, a perfect product is created, every time.

About Beyond Clothing -
Beyond was founded in 1996 by Scott Jones in Eugene, Oregon. Through a personal need for custom clothing during endeavors such as skiing, and climbing, customization was needed from the beginning. Over the years Beyond has been awarded some of the most prestigious awards within the outdoor industry. Beyond now offers a full line of Fleece and Soft Shell, while long underwear, synthetic down, and other garments are just around the corner.

You should know by now that Xmas shopping for a wife=jewelry. Whenever I happen to run into my ex she is always wearing something I gave her.

My wife doesn't wear much jewelry. X-mas shopping=gift cards to the mall for clothes. Birthday shopping=vacation to a beach...and NO HIKING!!! Oh well. I guess I can chill on a beach for a few days without walking around too much. If I have to.

I especially recommend Beyond Fleece for women. There has been little effort to make clothing that truly fits women, even Jagged Edge, which was founded and run by 2 sisters who were mountaineers, made their clothing on a unisex pattern.

Amy could never get clothing that fit properly. If the pants fit her hips, the legs were too long. If the legs fit, the pants were too tight around her hips.

Kelli had problems fitting her long legs and when reaching up, like ice/rock climbing, her arms were longer than her jacket. If she bought a jacket that allowed for her reach, the body of the jacket was way too big. She had these problems with "womans sizes" as well.

Beyond Fleece allows women to get a custom fit. If typical womans clothing doesn't fit you right, get something that does. You'll be glad you did.
