If they were illegals probably not a lot (LOL)....We can show em the post as we put them on the bus ride home.

One creative solution for the illegals getting free medical care is to check em and if they are illegal we fly them to Mexico after we stabalize them.”

“I think I see where my mistake was in my comments. I unintentionally attacked the only protected class in this country (heck world). I ofcourse am referring to the permenant class of VICTIM. In the heady days of the Cold War there was the fictional CIA "get out of jail free card" which allowed the holder to literally run rough shod over any law or responsibility. So has the term of Victim become today.

To place this into perspective lets imagine we are on a hike. About half way in we discover a fellow hiker with a pack of say 75 lbs. He is sitting on the trail mid way through the first day's hike pack off, looking exhausted.

Upon investigation we discover he has probably 20 to 30 lbs more gear than he needs. Additionally he never spent even one day getting prepared for a long hike. He is grossly overweight and he is so unprepared that it boggles the imagination.

Don't know about the rest of you but I never leave another hiker on the trail. I would, and HAVE, carried another hiker's pack when they were overcome or what not (the whole Leave No Trace thing works in here).

In our charity we carry the gear out so Hiker A can get to the end of that trail section. We camp that night and note Hiker A sets up near us. Noting he is having trouble with his stove, we offer to help him get the stove started and cook. It ends up that the newbie has a lot of food, but not that type that readily lends itself to cooking on the trail. Regardless we make sure he gets something to eat. Additionally we help him clean up and get his tent set up and he gets bedded down. In the process Hiker A explains that he has (select an acceptable victim claim here) but he still wants to experience hiking.

The next morning comes. We awake to find he is gone. Breathing a sigh of relief we throw on our packs and head down the next trail. Low and behold a couple of miles in the trail we come upon A again broken down nest to the trail. He explains that he really wants to hike but we are going to have to carry his stuff.

We laugh at this idea and advise him to go the two miles back to the start and get a ride to his vehicle. At this point a Forest Ranger walks up. We explain the situation and the Ranger tells us that since A is part of the FAMED Protected Victim status not only WILL he hike this trail but WE will be required to help him.

"BUT WAIT." We exclaim. "We spent weeks planning this trip we made sure we had the right gear, and were prepared for this trip."

The Ranger explains that we are being insulting to Hiker A and now plans on banning us from the trail. As well he is going to fine us for not only NOT helping this Hiker but we are also being uncaring becuase we fail to help him the rest of the way.

Is this fair?”
