I'm going to Utah for 8 days in October. Does anyone have any suggestions? I figure we'll be hitting Zion, Bryce, and Canyonlands. And a few odds and ends in between. That's where you guys come in. Which odd and/or ends should we hit?

Thanks!

Calf Creek Falls on BLM land between Escalante and Boulder; Angel's Landing and Hidden Canyon at Zion (if not skeered o'heights); Middle Taylor Creek (I think that's the name) in the Kolob Canyons section of Zion; and Cohab Canyon at Capitol Reef (likely on your way... and it leaves from Fruita).

Good call on the Lower Calf Creek hike. Don't miss Hole in the Rock Road, it has some great slot canyon hikes. Do not do the Rigg's Springs Trail in Bryce it sucks (as much as a hike can being out in the fresh air and nature).

Backpack into some backcountry. Overnight in Canyonlands, Zion backcoutry, Dark Canyon, Grand Gulch, Rainbow Bridge, maybe Paria/Buckskin, Escalante. It really depends on weather. Do some easy, dry slots or something a little wider. You'll have fun, great place.

IMO it's all good, except the best hiking is not in the Nat'l parks, and it's not off any paved road. I've gone every Oct up there for 14 years and never got tired of it yet.
