Transcript Funnies

“I spent the whole day today driving 3 hours each way to an exam and taking the darn thing. So now I have to sit here and do the work I normally would have done during work hours. No sleep tonight. I'm a little loopy already from intently staring at the screen for so long and from drinking so much Red Bull and coffee.

Sometimes in editing transcripts I get some pretty funny stuff. Here's one from the transcript I'm working on tongight. At least, I think it's funny. But I'm a little out of it at the moment.

Q. When you walked in the office and you said I called 911 ——
A. Yes.
Q. You said why did I call 911?
A. You called 911.
Q. Why?
A. Why did you call 911?
Q. Okay. I'm asking you.
A. You're asking me?
Q. Yes. Why did I call 911?
A. You called 911. You're going to ask me why you called? I don't know why you called.”

“I absolutely love your courtroom stories Ruby. You're as exciting as a cop or an ER doctor with the great stories.”

“Plus you can call people PHAGs and get away with it!”

“Tonight I'm working on a transcript of a dep of a rehabilitation vocational therapist. They are discussing the voc rehab client by the name of Mr. Cox. I have found that my translation software got it wrong in a lot of places and rather than an "x" it translated it as a "ck". So what I keep seeing is something like this:

"So in terms of Mr. C*ck, you do not draw any conclusions as to whether..."

It's amazing what poor Mr. C*ck has been through. ;D”

“My aunt Caroline's in the same line of work. She has some funny ones like that too. She does all the on site work, and her husband transcribes everything for her.”
