New Tag Supports Hiking Trail in NC
Now you can show your love of hiking, support the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina, and get a free Appalachian Trail Conservancy membership with your purchase of the NC License Tag. You can find out more at http://www.appalachiantrail.org or call me at 828-254-3708. There are already over 2,000 A.T. tags on NC roads and we’ve raised $43,000. Of course, we welcome any additional support (plus the tag looks great). Already we’ve started a grants program that will assist others in giving back to the Trail.

By the way, if you already have one, please let me know who you are and your tag number. I can help you acquire your membership and can keep you posted on the progress of how money from this program is beign used. After all - it's your support that makes it possible.

I have one on my car. It does look great and I get lots of comments from people (when its parked, of course. The comments I get when driving are usually telling me that I am #1)

Ooooh!

I wish NJ had one available. I'll have to write the NY/NJ Trail Conference and get them on it.

I also would like to take advantage of the free membership offer. How do I get hooked up without posting my license plate number on TT forums.

LOL, I missed the phone number up there. My subconscious automatically ignores any "call me at " lines on internet forums :).

So if I love to hike I have to support the NC ATC?

Ha, ha. You, too, had some second thoughts.

Say, ljoyner, perhaps you can divert some of that money into some safety hand rails in the showers at the Fontana Dam. Some idiot poured the remains of soap or shampoo on the floor there and I wentt down, almost for the count late this Spring. On that slippery stuff my feet went travelling, like straight out and iI ended up flat on my back. The back of my head hit hard against the wall and again on the floor. A hand rail could have saved me. 74 years old, only my Martial Arts conditioning helped me avoid serious injury. Thanks for any consideration.

Bearmagnet, its one possible method of showing your love for hiking. Of course, I am not sure you could get a NC tag for a car registered in NY.

Fontana Dam, Fontana Reservoir, Fontana Village, all in North Carolina by several miles.

I wouldn't mind having one of those plates.
