“Randall, I just enjoyed a short hike with Jerbear & we're both fired up for the next Adena Trace hike... I'm also checking in with some other guys to see if they can make it, telling everyone that the Friday group will meet around 3:00ish for a short hike-in. Meet up with the Sat. hikers around 10:00ish... out Sun. AM.... Does this sound about right? Anyway, that sorta follows our earlier patterns. Have fun on the KT ( I can't get to that one) & keep us posted on the details of the ATT weekend.”

Yeah that sounds good! Just one question, are we planning on hiking back to the dam from Battle point on Saturday Morning? If that is the case, we would be backtracking for close to two hours (based on one hour to the dam and one hour back to Battle Point). Maybe we should think about camping closer to the dam on Friday PM. Anyway just something to think about.

We can either camp short of the BP (closer to the trailhead) or give directions & ask the Sat. group to meet up with us at BP then hike on. That’s sounds like a good idea. I think that we should just head out Friday PM and find a place within a half-mile of the trailhead. The problem with that is we would not be on the water (very steep from the dam, until battle point) As long as we have water for one night we should be ok. It would be cool to camp at Battle Point, but I am not sure that some people could find the trailhead at the dam, it is weedy up there and not well marked. It would be a real trick would be finding it from the dam parking lot and I do not have GPS coordinates for that trailhead either. One other option would be to try and find a place to camp on the east side of the lake, just north of the dam on the trail, again I am not that familiar with that area as far as camping is concerned.

One additional point, If you are coming in Friday PM we should probably meet at the northwest trailhead (That’s where we usually start out and where the trip will end) on Fairfield causeway. That way we can leave my truck as a shuttle and not have to back track on Friday. That is assuming my truck will carry everyone involved.

Glad to have you with us!!! By the way, this trail anit nuthin like the Smokies. Its sorta rough, weedy and underdeveloped (Gee, kinda reminds me of Crash’s brain) Are you coming in Friday PM?

Ok, feeling better now!! I was thinking that at least some of us (Golfhiker, Randall, JerBear) should meet at the Northwest trailhead on the causeway (Jerbear, that’s were we started out on the last hike). That’s where we are supposed to end the hike and we need to leave a shuttle car there. My truck can hold close to six plus their gear, so I can leave it there for that purpose. After that happens, we should meet at the dam parking lot in Brookville around 4:00 PM local time.
