Sir David Attenborough is the man! I love his voice.

That was just plain strange.

Then there was the cop who got the call to a slug who had been sexually assaulted by a turtle. The Cop asked what happened and the slug said,"I can't tell you it happened so fast."

After much chasing each other around (and apparently some mating in the night when they had privacy) there are now eggs in the nest. I expect to see more over the next day or so.
I always thought bettas were a good fish to have cause they were dumb and easy to take care of - who knew they were so full of personality. :)

Better separate the adults from the eggs soon, TE. Otherwise the eggs become lunch. So does the female fish. You should have seen what my betta did to the snails I put in his tank to keep it clean. He just tore them apart.

The female eats the eggs, not the male. He stays until the eggs hatch as he has to keep the nest up. He's guarding it quite diligently, driving her away. She'll be going into her own tank soon, but I'm not sure they are done yet.

I acclimated them for a few days before I tipped her in...makes them less agressive toward one another.
