I wasn't in Kentucky for all the flooding, high winds and rain on Friday. I was in Indiana sitting under a tarp with Crash, Thrifty, Randall, Chin and Mugsy.

P.S. The rain finally stopped.

Are there any Missouri TT'ers? If there are, I wish they would plan an Ozarks trip. I've never been there but I've heard it's beautiful.

Actually the Ozarks are more in Arkansas and Oklahoma and the time for hiking there is close. I don't go there during the warm weather because the ticks are the worse I have seen anywhere.

who are you stomper?
If you're "stove stomper" than you already know where I live. There is an open door policy to my home. Those that know me, know that and its easy to get ahold of me. It's just starting to be backpacking season here in Mo again, and there will be plenty of hiking. Since I've made the rounds to the domains of others over the years, It would be nice to have some come my way. 2 thanksgivings ago, there was a floatilla that came to SE Mo. That was grand, but no other visitors since...The welcome is permanent.

No, I'm not Stovie so I don't know where you live. I live in Paducah, KY which is @50 miles from MO. I would like to head west if the opportunity arose. What are you thinking of doing during this backpacking season?

The best thing about Missouri is that it borders Arkansas where all the good trails are.

No doubt. I actually miss the Ozarks.

Yep, there's nothing much to see or do in Missouri. Arkansas is where it's at.

I grew up in Ozark county MO and never moved until I finished college (MSSU). ALL of my family is still there....I'm the only one to leave. Very beautiful country and I get back there for at least a 3-week vacation every other year. There are no real "hiking" trails where I'm from though. I believe the hiking trails are more in Arkansas.

Great canoeing. My family and I typically go on a 3-night float trip every time we go back to visit.

On yea...the ticks are everywhere. How about the seed ticks?
