Thanks for the fire on Saturday night. Busybee had a good time. I have to give her small doses of hiking so that she enjoys herself.

“The very lower tip of my tibia is exactly what I kept breaking (four times total). I need to keep up the ankle exercises esp. before I take a trip. I hope it heals ok, but with lots of "nursing" you will be back hikin' in no time. I stepped in a hole on my way to camp and went up to my knee! Luckily it only bruised my knee. I debated even going hiking on Saturday myself, but made it and now I am glad I went. Thanks toph for the pics, I am still debating which camera to buy next. Either a large SLR type or a very small waterproof and compact one just for hikin'.

YES...I am a slacker...I had other plans....

..I will be doing some Sipsey hiking in Dec...I get 4 weeks off for Christmas....wooo hooooo...( but not sure of a date yet)

“Here's my pictures from the Sipsey Wilderness In Alabama and the dayhike Toph and I made in the Bankhead National Forest. Some of these pics may be familiar as Toph took similiar photographs, but I think his are better than mine. . . . . someday we all
really need to get up to the Bankhead trail that Toph showed me after the Sipsey base camp & hike. . . . there's even a beach along the river / creek, provided the water's not to high near the big falls we hiked to. Pretty place, and the hike's not tough. . . These pics are a mix of the dayhike we made as a group in the Eagle & Little Ugly and the large creek in the Bankhead Forest. . . .

“Those are of the fall in the Bankhead - the hike Toph and me took on hike-out-from-Sipsey day. They're located about 40-60 minutes up the Brushy creek trail, on the left bank.

Toph can likely tell you the exact name of the fall - I don't have recall where it was on my map, just somewhere N., I think.”
