What a jerk.” 9:11:31 PM 11/13/00 RE: Quote for the Day! “Ahem, who's the jerk here? Why is the Bush camp so set on stopping the hand count? Wasn't one of the main themes of his campaign "we trust the people"? Apparently people can't be trusted to count ballots, even when done in accordance with the specific set of criteria spelled out under Florida law. It's not a mystical, unregulated process. If the Bush camp had been on their toes, they would have asked for hand recounts in heavily Republican precincts instead of whining and filing lawsuits. And what the hell is this doing on "Quote for the Day"? Being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as I live it is my privilege - my *privilege* to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I love. I rejoice in life for its own sake.
