I'm struggling to understand why David Attenborough isn't narrating, but I guess that'll have to wait until I buy the dvd.

Yep, That great white and seal was amazing. I really liked the ariel dog hunt footage. Wild dogs are so cool. I wasn't dissapointed in the least. Watched it on the HD channel, even w/o a n HD TV it makes a big difference in clarity and depth. The show made me want to go buy a new TV.

i loved the shark footage as well...i don't think i've ever seen a great white that far out of the water...i didn't realize they were playing two of them back to back though and i missed the first 15 minutes of the second one

anyone else think they took a lot of commercial breaks?

Dude, do you have an HDdiscovery on your cable? They did NO commercials and a whole ton of footage about how they shot the film from the air, and a night-time lion hunt where they take down an elephant. They used some crazy lights that humans and animals can't see but their cameras can. Can you imagine hearing an elephant being taken down by ten lions just yards away from you in the dark?! The guy said it was just this huge awful, scarey ordeal, even though it should have been a privelage (it's so rare).

THAT'S why we had so many commercials...they had to make up for not showing any to you richies ;)

The whale shark footage, with the swirls of bait fish and yellowfin tuna was absolutely amazing. I've never seen sharks look so beautiful and graceful while taking out fur seals, either. I thought Sigourney Weaver did a good job of narrating.

Thrifty, it's just part of our basic digital cable package. We don't pay any extra for it. I think it ended up being about 15 minutes of coverage. That's about average for an hour long show isn't it?

This is the first film ever made of a pockmarked webbed woogle ever made in the wild.

Good shows, but that first film stuff began to sound redundant after a bit. It pointed up the fact that predators don't always get their food, at least not on every attempt.

The scenes were grand.

I loved the birds of paradise! The shark scene was pretty cool as was the snow leopard.

Did anyone else notice that the narration was overpowered by the music? Maybe it was just my tv.

Well apprently they cut the original narration by David Attenborough and went with Sigourney Weaver instead, could have had something to do with it Creek Dancer.

Laurel tried really hard to stay up for all 3 episodes last night, but she didn't make it. It was very difficult to listen to the narration though, through her constant stream of questions about what she was watching. She finally understands that animals=meat though. This morning at the grocery, she asked if the chicken I bought used to be alive, and those steaks over in the case used to be cows. Yeppers!

That's weird, they changed their scedule, on the Cable listing it was on tonight as I had to cancel a recording for it. Sorry Ewker, looks like you'll have to wait for next Sunday, there's eight more episodes.

I don't get the Science Channel so out of luck there. I will also miss 2 more Sunday night shows due to bping trips. That makes me missing 75% of the shows. Oh well I will catch it when it reruns later on.

So did anyone else watch the 2 episodes last night? Laurel saw the south African flaunt lizards, and immediately asked if I could get her some. Considering they eat flies on the wing (leaping lizards!) I don't think so. But I can say I have never seen such brightly colored lizards before. They rival parrots.

BTW I didn't realize it but they aired all 3 of last weeks shows Sunday morning. Not sure if they will do that every Sunday.

I'd certainly like to take some of those lizards on camping trips. Each time one jumped up and snagged a meal I said, "Oh yeah!"

Unfortunately, all they ate hardly put a dent in the hatching population.

great footage of the polar bear swimming...i've seen them swim at the zoo before but seeing them swim in the wild is awesome...great underwater angles...it's like they're running through the water

yep, I'm a watcher...caught them all so far...they are magnificient...there isn't a one without some footage that blows me away and more than one shot has brought tears to my eyes...both for their beauty and the realization that things are changing too quickly for many to adapt and so may perish...
