Strike? Oh that's right you have no right to be right, the military isn't the actors union.

HPD, not sure what your point was with the copy/paste. It essentially mirrored my original post except with a fairly even split on soldiers opinions. You have already established that you think they should not get raises as government workers (except for promotion) and that the army should be disbanded and the wars are illegal. I am sure that there is reasonable ground to be found between a 1.4% raise and disbanding the Army.

my point was to give a viewpoint - I wasn't even trying to support my own opinion, just adding to the discussion. I hope its ok.

How's the wages doing at Gold Sachs? You remember the company that would've been bankrupt until we bailed them out and then, in our wisdom, we let them run the country from from offices instead of from jail with Bernie Madoff?

Did yawl vote for Goldman Sachs? Yes you did even though you think you voted for McCain or Obama. Don't worry, the Mississippi river full of tea bags can't wash the corruption out of this country.

Hmmm...Obama promoting more unrest in the Middle East. War hawk?

If your reason for being on this side of this issue (with which I agree) were sincerely the action it's self and independent of the person making the decision, I would congratulate you on level headed thinking. Even using the term president in your post, instead of Obama, would have been at least a step in the rite direction.
