Kayadyn Micropur Water Treatment Tablets

“Hey guys, I was looking to buy some Aqua Mira but after going to Gander Mountain, Dicks Sporting Goods, GS Outfitters and even Wally World had to settle with these things. The lady who worked at Gander was really helpful and said they are pretty much the same thing as the Aqua Mira (Chlorine Dioxide) but I was wondering what you guys thought about them. I tested one out and it tastes pretty good, no chemical taste but you do have to let it "cook" for 4 hours when you put the tab in the bottle.”

“the same basic product has been made by katadyn for years... micropur water tablets. indeed it's the same active ingredient as in aqua mira. that said, the label sas that it needs a 4 hour treatment time. I can understand it might take a little longer because the tablet must dissolve but 4 hours? well, backpackinglight.com sells the the things and there is a good write-up on them here:
