I got to play for a day

“I actually have a TR!!!! Wooo Hooo....I actually was on a trail...all be it not
very long...but I heard the leaves crunch under my feet, smelled the crispness of
the air and sat by a river and watched the water flow!!!!

Our adventure started after church yesterday...hubby gave me free reigns of
where I wanted to go so I choose to head up 215 from Brevard/Rosman in hopes of finding some color. I had thought we would stop by Bird Rock Falls but we had passed it before I realized it....the drive was nice and we pulled over a few times to see what was below the banks. When we reached Courthouse Falls road (not sure of the FS#) I noticed the gate was opened and screamed RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT!!!!! (I think I scared the poor boy to
death but he made the turn) we headed up the newly graveled road and fall just seemed to be resting there. I had him (Him being the hubby) pull over so I could scramble down a bank to investigate...I soon returned to retrieve my tripod...the river was incredible....the water was clear and the hold leaves danced in the water like fairies.

After some time by the river I was anxious to see how far the road was open...after I couple of stops for pics we found ourselves at the end!!! Yippie!!! We headed up the road to Lower Crt House Falls...it was awesome!! Not a soul in site...they were all down below! We had a great hike up to the falls then lingered on the rock for awhile watching the water cascade to the bottom.

We then decided it was time to head back so we headed back up 215 towards BRP...us and all the toursit. The colors were nice but I was suprised at how much they had already changed. We tried to squeeze into a few overlooks but there were things to be done at the homestead still so we headed on back
to reality!!!!

I managed to make it to Cosby/Hartford/Cataloochee/Maggie Valley/Cherokee/ Clingmans Dome yesterday.

Wound up at Clingmans Dome at sunset in time for a nice hike to the observations deck and some great pics. Wasn't yesterday beautiful in western NC?”
