So... as an example... I started off with THE POSITIVE REASONS why I was going to vote for Arnold again... Here is my original post:

“The California Governors race is interesting. We have a sitting governor (Arnold, known as "the Governator :)), who has actually managed to get a few things done. He has done that by WORKING WITH his Democratic opponents, rather than simply rage war with them. For that reason alone, I will vote for him. The hard-right Republicans don't like him because he comnpromises, but without some compromise (on BOTH sides) nothing would get accomplished in this state. So... for me as a right-leaning person (on some issues) and a left-leaning person (on others)... he's done just about the best job that can be expected! Do I agree with all his decisions? OF COURSE NOT, but he is moving us forward. I like the Environmental things he's done, as well as a number of other things that are a joint effort of him & the Dem officials he has to work with.

That's what I did. I started off with A POSITIVE reason for my vote. Yes, I later digressed into the negatives the opponent in this contest was guilty of, but WHAT WAS FIRST, AND MOST IMPORTANT, were the POSITIVES!

Conversely, you started off with all the negative reasons why to not vote Dem. That was exactly the oppposite of what I was tryoing to do... which was to have people talk about why they were voting a certain way, vs. why they were voting "against" the opponent. Wow, I'm truly sorry, but it appears that you have no social skills whatsoever, Sarge. Usually, in a normal conversation, when one starts off going one direction / talking about one subject, the participants join in and contribute, or, tactfully ask "what about this.... or that... viewpoint?"

In your case, having a "dialog" with others seems to be an alien concept... you seem only to want to argue with people & then denigrate them for not thinking as you do.

What is your purpose in being here? To argue / convert people? OR, to communicate with / share ideas?
