“did u get the hangtag?”

Hangtag don't mean squat at Big South NRRA. They want you to have a backcountry permit in possession on the trail.

Crash, thanks for putting this together. Interesting hike but we made it. My pics are up on webshots, link below. I wish I had taken more esp on the connector trail where it had a built in slip-n-slide

no, and i wish i would have. gonna keep a close eye on the spot for the next several days. if i see a bullseye im charging into the med center

im thinking the one that gives lyme disease is very rare in the south, more of a new england thing. am i correct in this?

mostly the deer tick as i understand it, a small red thing. if it was a wood tick (large and black) there is less cause for concern as i understand it. not sure about local.

the one I found on my finger was a deer tick and the one I pulled out of my shoulder was one also. I have not found any more on me and I gave Angie a tick shampoo bath just to be sure though I use Frontline on her.

I would keep an eye on it CB. If it was small and dark brown/black with it could have been a deer tick.

Some pics.

Sheltowee Trace Trail
Running water and a tick
Ass hole get my cheese

that was fun to write. i think from now on all trip reports will be in the form of haiku

Geez, you'd think that on New Years, in those parts, you'd be safe from ticks. Damn global warming.

Though my plantar faciitis killed me on this trip. My heel has felt better since coming back than it has in months. Which is a good thang.
