They want you to have a backcountry permit in possession on the trail.” 3:21:26 PM 12/28/06 “i got the hangtag, jimbo. thanks. ignore sticky. hes just grumpy cuz he needs more coffee EVERONE, instead of my green hilleberg akto, look for my green henry shires tarptent. i'll also try to leave a note if theres a bulletin board around” 6:09:28 PM 12/28/06 “i'm outta here. see y'all at pickett” 5:46:32 AM 12/29/06 “hope he gets that coffee... i was only returnin' what was not mine!” 10:45:25 AM 12/29/06 “Happy New Year guys!” 12:06:42 PM 1/01/07 “Stopped off and had lunch at Jones Restaurant. Glad you all had a good time. When midnight struck o New Year's Eve, did you fellas kiss each other? :-)” 5:51:50 PM 1/02/07 “"When midnight struck o New Year's Eve, did you fellas kiss each other? :-)" ~ woodzie tee hee last edited: 1/02/07 5:59:14 PM” 5:58:52 PM 1/02/07 “no, but i heard strange sounds coming from the direction of sticks and angie” 6:06:15 PM 1/02/07 “??????...that's strange because the last time I saw her she was laying next to your table...” 6:34:26 PM 1/02/07 “gah! i just found a tick on me! sucker was dug in but i got him out, i hope” 8:31:42 AM 1/03/07 “i tick? this time of year? amazing! perhaps it was a lawyer?” 11:08:07 AM 1/03/07 “it was fairly warm and it was by tennessee/kentucky border” 12:12:46 PM 1/03/07 “did you id the thing?” 12:21:48 PM 1/03/07 “no, and i wish i would have. gonna keep a close eye on the spot for the next several days. if i see a bullseye im charging into the med center im thinking the one that gives lyme disease is very rare in the south, more of a new england thing. am i correct in this?” 12:23:58 PM 1/03/07 “mostly the deer tick as i understand it, a small red thing. if it was a wood tick (large and black) there is less cause for concern as i understand it. not sure about local.” 12:30:53 PM 1/03/07 “sounds like it was a wood tick, then” 12:33:59 PM 1/03/07 “check the wilderness haiku thread” 4:05:31 PM 1/03/07 “the one I found on my finger was a deer tick and the one I pulled out of my shoulder was one also. I have not found any more on me and I gave Angie a tick shampoo bath just to be sure though I use Frontline on her. I would keep an eye on it CB. If it was small and dark brown/black with it could have been a deer tick. Some pics. ![]() ![]() ”8:16:40 PM 1/03/07 “Thanks guys, I dreamt about ticks all night last night! >:\” 8:58:56 AM 1/04/07 from the wilderness haiku thread “Sheltowee Trace Trail Running water and a tick Ass hole get my cheese that was fun to write. i think from now on all trip reports will be in the form of haiku” 10:31:14 AM 1/04/07 “Geez, you'd think that on New Years, in those parts, you'd be safe from ticks. Damn global warming.” 2:20:57 PM 1/04/07 “Though my plantar faciitis killed me on this trip. My heel has felt better since coming back than it has in months. Which is a good thang.” 7:31:05 PM 1/04/07 6:03:08 PM 1/06/07 << back to Sheltowee Trace Section Hike page
