I am thinking about hiking the LBL North/South trail the week before this gig. If I do, I will be the one that shows up both looking and smelling like a backpacker for the Friday night party.

I will check the weather about next Thursday. Hell, it was 80 here last Tuesday, snowed over the weekend, up to 60 when I woke up this morning and supposedly will snow again this weekend.

If you don't like the weather in this part of the country, just wait a few minutes and it will change.

Heavy Snow In Lake County, IL
Dammm!!!
Lots of snow here and wind is picking up!! We have close to 4 inches and it looks like were gonna get a whole lot more than that!!
I saw a snow plow in the ditch about a half hour ago and probably averaged close to 35 MPH on the way to work, So much for spring!!!
See ya later

Not happy with the weather in Rockford, IL either. >:\ Had to take the boss and co-worker back to Midway this afternoon. Oh what a treat that was.

Funny things was, on my return to Rockford, the roads were completely clear, only wet. Stoopid weather....

The weather is shaping up nicely for the hike! Better than this morning. It was snowing and my grass needed cutting. How crazy is that?

Unless you enjoy hiking in rain, it is a good thing this is not scheduled for this weekend. 70% chance of rain on Friday and Saturday.

Someone say hungover hikers?

I'll try not to be a sad drunk. We don't need to be seeing that. ;)

But, I will be bringing the infamous trailgaritas. I just placed an order for more mix and it should be on my stoop when I get home tomorrow. :)

I will be coming off a 60 mile hike at LBL. I will need to get drunk on Friday before hammering out another 10 or so on Saturday. I am a happy drunk. Ask Jerbear (remember Linville)

For You Alckys
Note: the counties around Mammoth Cave National Park are "dry" – alcoholic beverages are not available for sale except for in Cave City and Elizabethtown, where you may be able to purchase a drink with your meal at certain restaurants. The closest "wet" area is Bowling Green.

Interesting on the wildflower event this weekend. This shouldn't effect us too much, more so on Friday evening maybe, but not Saturday.

I posted something about the DRY county on a different thread. Bowling Green is about 45 minutes away.

Is it too much to ask for a nice quiet stroll through the woods? That's all I'm asking for.... :p

And a little alcohol.

For those arriving in the afternoon and around dinner time, would anyone be interested in having dinner at the Mammoth Cave restraunt? This is located in the hotel near the visitor's center.

Jimmy, his son and I will most likely be eating our supper here on Friday.

Their fried chicken is awesome!

ACK! Sweet tea is yucky. I'm sure the wildflower event is going to ruin the hike. There will be swarms of old ladies with fieldguides and too much perfume on passing out in the trail left and right. You won't be able to get campsites because of all the RVs, the ranger will be patrolling for alcohol consumption and indecent exposure, Wounded Kneee will be arrested; it'll be awful! You guys should just postpone to the 28th.
