it will be entertaining to see how the Dems handle the issue of illegal immigration...LOL...if they don't grant amnesty they lose millions of potential voters. If they do grant it...they may piss off millions of legal voters.

His values include questionable campaign cash to say the least.

yea

especially from those predatory, freedom-hating homosexuals. surely every american stays up at night wondering what horrors might actualize should two men be able to be bound by civil union.

awful, fearful stuff which is surely a direct attack on liberty.

good work nigal.

Get over it sarge. The far right agenda suffered a major defeat yesterday. America was sick and tired of Little Ricky and the rest of the gang.

Santorum was (I supposed still is, but not on a national stage)a rabid, right wing religious zealot.

And yes, Sarge, while those are "names" and I am "name-calling" . ..they are also paint an accurate picture of the man.

He is rabidly against the very founding tenants of this country. He was the single biggest anti-american incumbent running.

He is anti-freedom of religion. He actively sought to intertwine not merely a religous sensibility into American life (bad enough) but, importantly HIS religous sensibility.

He directly took a big nanny- government interventionst position in the Schiavo case.

He is anti abortion.

His support President Bush's assualt on the Bill of Rights.

While I am painfully aware that he represent everything YOU support Sarge,

He represent everything I detest.

He is the furthest thing from a good american I can imagine. he is a disgrace to the office he held, to district, to his state, and to this country.

It is truly a good thing to see him and his ideals so thoroughly rejected and repudiated.

He synthesizes the entire election. And he got fired.

LOL..I remember all too well 14 years ago when Slick got into the White House under similar circumstances. They attacked Bush 41 and lied their butts off. Well in 1993 they put their plan in action...and we saw a growth of Republican Control (the thing they walked away from in 2004) until last night. HMMM so go for it libbies....

Sarge--

You say "still no substance".

And I can understand you object to name calling etc.

But isn't the substance here that Santorum was thrown out of office because the voters rejected the very things about him that you valued?

The substance is that he carved out very defined stances with regard to:

Religious freedom
personal freedom
The bill of rights
corruption in government
the war in iraq
Government interference in and control over personal lives and decisions (this sort of is part of 1, 2 and 3).

On each and every plank of his platform he was whipped.

Rejected

Repudiated.

You said.

"he is a good man with Good values"

I say he hung out with and was advised by folks who advocated the killing of doctors who provided abortions

I say he advocated for government interference in the Schiavo case

I say his positions against the judiciary were tantamount to threats

I say his positions against gays .. .equating gay sex to bestiality are an anathema.

These are not the marks of a "good" man. They are the marks of a right wing religous zealot.

They are not "good" values. they are values of a narrrow constiuency of right wing zealots.

They are most certainly not american values.

Not the values of freedom, and independence.

They may be YOUR values.

But they clearly aren't the values of the people who voted in his state.

He is well rid of.

Can i take this one Sarge? I'm bored and haven't pissed off lee in a while.

He is rabidly against the very founding tenants of this country. He was the single biggest anti-american incumbent running.

No substance. This is opinion.

He is anti-freedom of religion. He actively sought to intertwine not merely a religous sensibility into American life (bad enough) but, importantly HIS religous sensibility.

No substance. As in no substantiation of claims.

He directly took a big nanny- government interventionst position in the Schiavo case.

Finally a scrap of meat buried on the taters. But still, it's simply your opinion which as we all know doesn't even count because you aren't from his district.

He is anti abortion.

True. So?

His support President Bush's assualt on the Bill of Rights.

No substance.

While I am painfully aware that he represent everything YOU support Sarge,

Attacks, sweet. But still no substance.

He represent everything I detest.

No substance. Yeah, so what? He's not your rep.

He is the furthest thing from a good american I can imagine.

Yes, let's let lee be the measuring stick for Americanism. It don't work that way Scooter.

he is a disgrace to the office he held, to district, to his state, and to this country.

At least save yourself a scrap of dignity and say "IMHO". Makes ya look not quite so stupid.

It is truly a good thing to see him and his ideals so thoroughly rejected and repudiated.

Yes, G-d bless democracy.

Nigal
11:02:14 AM
11/08/06

Well Nigal - I think the point is that Santorum's defeat provides the main substance in relation to this - his platform was soundly rejected by the voters of PA.

This was the third-ranking Republican who suffered the second biggest loss of the evening.
It wasn't even close!

The unsubstantiated point ya mean.
Nigal
11:13:21 AM
11/08/06

my point is that nigal said santorum 'got' the issues that faced americans and knew where we needed to protect ourselves the most.

santorum is most well known for his remarks regarding the infusion of religion into politics. also for the gay stuff.

so im asking yall, is that really what matters the most to you?

i thought it was national security and bombs and shit

Unsubstantiated use of derivatives of "unsubstantial"........but at least the spelling is correct.

Baby Jesus Sad as Democrats Take the House
November 7, 2006, Heaven

The Baby Jesus was reduced to tears as early polls and projections gave the Democrats a majority in the House of Representatives. "Doesn't America love me and Father?" said the distraught son of God.

Results for control of the senate are still not certain but there is some hope that the infant Jesus will take some joy in his father's Party maintaining control there. "Even if we do maintain a majority in the Senate, it still won't be the same without Rick Santorum. He was such a righteous ass, but the kind of ass you want on your side - definately."

Due to the lateness of the hour, The Baby Satan was unavailable for comment. "It's a school night," his step-father Satan explained.###

[edit]Rick Santorum Raptured
In Pennsylvania's Senate race, incumbent Rick Santourum was leading by a 98% margin when all of the sudden, he was raptured by God and sent to Heaven. Unfortunately for America, Democratic challenger Bob Casey won by default. The terrorists are celebrating, by eating cake.

is your faith really that weak that you take someone else's willingness to not believe as you do as an attack?

i mean, just because you probably dont believe in evolution has no bearing on whether or not I do. never understood why it is that those who talk about having the most faith seem to act like anything which might go against what they believe will lead to total their religion's total destruction. thats awfully insecure.

The wing-nut nutjob across the street from me nailed a 4x8 piece of plywood to his 150 year old oak tree with the following statement: "A vote for Sherrod Brown or Ted Strickland is a vote for killing babies." The city I live in is the stronghold for Dennis Kucinich, so you can image what the neighbors think.

I have a feeling that Jesus sent a message to the city about the yard sign restrictions in the city.
