Hey Adventurist, sounds like fun to me.I can't make it to this one, but I will be in Colorado for the full moon in early February :-) Of course I am planninjg to do a full moon snowshoe trip then with the gang (Snowpeak, Mtngrl, Bill, Deborah so far). How about you guys?

Before snowshoeing, there will be the usual pig-out at Chicago's Best Pizza :-)

The guy in the green jacket on the left is Bison too.

that was a BLAST - it was about 2 degrees wasn't it?

I went off ahead of the group at first - I've never been in the forest when it was so quiet - there was nothing moving - it was all frozen solid i suppose.

Bison

You hooked on snowshoeing now? Thats cool that your first time on snowshoes was for a full-moon.

BTW... to everyone that doesn't realize. Please don't take offense but its hard to hear what people say sometimes over the crunch crunch of their snowshoes on the snow. :-) Just so people don't think I am going deaf.

Oh, I'm hooked, if I hadn't just spent 5000 on a new home theater, I'd go buy a pair of snowshoes right now. As it is I'll just rent this winter and buy a pair at the end of the season sales.
Bison

$5000? I'm assuming that includes the TV? What speakers and unit did you go with?

Thats your best bet with the snowshoes cause then you can rent different types and still get a good deal.

55 inch Sony SXRD 1080p tv

Sony 5.1 surround sound system with upconverting DVD player

Xbox 360

UPS system

And lot's of cables to hook it all up.

Oh, and I shouldn't forget the one-time 200 dollar fee to upgrade to the HD DVR.

The installation guy's here setting up our HD service right now.

Oh, I forgot the 300 bucks for a stand to put the TV on.

Cables - 2 HDMI, 2 Digital Optical, 1 Digital Coaxial, Subwoofer, Speaker wire (the subwoofer cable and speaker wire that came with the system weren't quite up to my standards) - altogether about 150.

Watching it right now and it's beautiful, the sound is incredible.
