Road Map Software

“Does anybody have any suggestions on what software I could purchase that I could install on my laptop and use during my roadtrip as a road map? I'm looking for something quite detailed (all of the backroads) that covers the entire united states, and includes information such as state forest campgrounds, county parks, any local campgrounds or parks, and other recreation facilities. Have you used anysoftware like this, and what would be your suggestion. I have previewed Microsoft streets and trips 2007 and wasn't real impressed with it, but it did have some good detail on backroads.”

“I like Delorme. I use their topo's & street map. Wish it would work in my Garmin 60csx.

I was on-the-road 24hrs a day, 7 days a week working on 2-4 hrs sleep a night and this map got me into every nook & crany in NYS.

For another (I think) $99 they have a little gizmo to plug into your laptop to become a very good navigation (GPS) system.

A little unwieldly for ther trail though.”
