Come hell or high water!View Messages“HELP!!! we are drowning.... sub pump failed to work tree was the first to wake up and see the flood in our basement. I woke uo and cried. we lost about 90 % of the childrens things. pics and things they made for us things I have been saving for them. we are cleaning out the garage and brought some things in to go through. then left on the floor. trees studio took the brunt of the flood. his guitar and keyboard and cd's and albums were on the floor. things that are rare. he was doing produnction and that is why they were there. both couches are trashed. I just finished pulling up one rooms carpet and let me tell you that is very hard to do when it is full of water. Im heart broken for the things we lost. you can never ever replace little hand prints and your childs first time writing there name. well back to seeing what else we lost :( ps, never ever keep anything on the floor because you never know” 9:26:17 AM 11/09/06 “Man that is horrible! Sorry for the bad luck. :(” 9:30:24 AM 11/09/06 “Sorry for your loss. I will have to start looking at the garage sales for vinyl to replace some of treebeard's collection.” 9:30:57 AM 11/09/06 “Floods suck big ones. I know. Sorry for your lost.” 9:32:27 AM 11/09/06 “Dang Mapleleaf!!” 9:34:20 AM 11/09/06 “Dang...you do have flood insurance right?” 9:35:49 AM 11/09/06 ““Dang...you do have flood insurance right?” XL400236 10:35:49 AM 11/09/06 Even if they do it doesn't sound like it will be able to replace most the things that were lost. Sorry Mapes.” 9:38:18 AM 11/09/06 “That's one of the things I was so sad about, loseing all my vinyl albums. They can't be replaced. I had about 350-400 albums. Mapes, if y'all have time, remove the disks from the ruined cardboard and rinse them off. The disks themselves might can be saved. I had too much to do and mildew took over my disks.” 9:38:46 AM 11/09/06 “Oh Maple, that is terrible, I'm really sorry!!” 9:43:27 AM 11/09/06 “Maple. After a number of fires I can tell you vinyl records (as Stovie said) if you take them out of the cardboard my be able to be saved.” 9:46:52 AM 11/09/06 this is maple “speakers are gone :( last edited: 11/09/06 9:49:40 AM” 9:49:09 AM 11/09/06 “So sorry to hear this mapes. I hope you can save something meaningful.” 9:56:09 AM 11/09/06 “What have you done with Treebeard?” 9:57:00 AM 11/09/06 “my bedroom! this happened to me last year. a couple of inches. lost lotsa the same things, except it was a shatload of comic books that i was going to sell one day. the alarm on the sump pump was turned off, and the rest is history.....” 10:00:27 AM 11/09/06 “when it rains it pours the evil phone call: hi Nora this is your cousion Howey (stus) Aunt Rose died last night" so this day gets better and better. I get to tell the rest of the family.” 10:13:38 AM 11/09/06 “Man...this one of those days where the famous phrase "Other than that Mrs. Lincoln how did you enjoy the show?" keeps coming to mind... All my sympathy and what ever else I can give are yours.” 10:21:05 AM 11/09/06 “mapes and tree, you need anything, you know my number im still touched by the time you tried to get out of work and come all the way to indiana to be with me when my dad died. even tho it wasnt able to work out, the fact that you tried really meant alot to me.” 10:45:33 AM 11/09/06 “It's a sump pump. So sorry to hear about your problems. I collect albums, too. I don't see why the water would affect the vinyl. Speakers also. The water shouldn't affect the drivers, maybe the boxes...” 11:17:56 AM 11/09/06 “Salt water sure did.” 11:59:10 AM 11/09/06 “Maple -- if there is anything I can do, please let me know.” 12:02:31 PM 11/09/06 “Bummer, mapes/tree!! Hopefully your homeowner's insurance will cover the replaceable stuff. When I was a kid we had a flood in our house from a broken pipe and insurance replaced everything (carpets were the biggest item). Good thoughts headed your way!” 12:03:07 PM 11/09/06 “"Other than that Mrs. Lincoln how did you enjoy the show?" keeps coming to mind..." Yeah, and shortly there after the doctor's name was mud.” 12:12:42 PM 11/09/06 “I can send you some of my kids hand prints. God knows I have enought of them. I have tons of drawing, you can just tape over my kids names and put your kids names. It could work. In 20 years, who is going to remember. I am truly sorry about the lost.” 2:45:32 PM 11/09/06 “Try a servicemaster cleaning person...they have done some INCREDIBLE Stuff with stuff I thought was GONE. And I will volunteer to come up there with Crash or MarkO and we can sit in the living room and ARGUE like a couple of children.... last edited: 11/09/06 2:50:53 PM” 2:50:10 PM 11/09/06 “sorry guys - terrible. good luck.” 3:50:19 PM 11/09/06 “So sorry guys.” 3:53:25 PM 11/09/06 “I feel like Ed Norton...” 3:54:17 PM 11/09/06 “Did your sump pump lose power? In the last house I was in that had a sump pump, I had it upgraded to a model with a battery backup. There are also models that can use the pressure from the water main to keep the sump drained, although it will waste fresh water in doing so, and this is only as a backup to the electric pump. I realize this is too late to do you any good now, and I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but I thought I'd mention this anyhow.” 4:22:50 PM 11/09/06 “Thanks, Leo. I will take that under advisement” 4:39:10 PM 11/09/06 “In the middle of the GA drought, man uses enough water for 60 homes. Freaktard. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/14587528/detail.html” 11:39:00 AM 11/14/07 “I want to know what he does for a living.” 11:47:07 AM 11/14/07 “I want to know how he used 110,000 gallons on after he had been warned to cut back from the 400,000 he had used the previous month.” 11:56:31 AM 11/14/07 “I wonder how many people live in that house.” 12:52:13 PM 11/14/07 “One can only assume that he flushes the pool after every use.” 12:57:33 PM 11/14/07 “I see people all the time watering the lawn in the middle of the day, or sprinklers aiming for the side walk, or on for hours at a time. stupid people! I water my lawn in the evening. that is when it is to be done.” 3:05:25 AM 11/15/07 “you're so smart mapleleaf” 4:57:05 AM 11/15/07 “LOL HPM” 4:59:20 AM 11/15/07 “And washes his cars after every drive.” 5:48:47 AM 11/15/07 “yup yup!” 5:54:10 AM 11/15/07 “Cripes I haven't watered my lawn since July, before it became illegal to do so. I just make sure the young trees are doing well. I'd be fine if the grass just went away, much to HPM's dismay. Then again, he IS the one who has to mow it...” 5:56:03 AM 11/15/07 “Maybe he has a staff and they use water too, just like the rest of us?” 5:56:14 AM 11/15/07 “I've never watered my lawn. If the grass dies and turns brown, oh well, less for me to mow.” 6:02:22 AM 11/15/07 “Maybe he has a staff and they use water too, just like the rest of us 440,000 gallons of water just how big is the dudes staff (yes please quick put that on the out of context thread)? the dude was watering 5 acres worth of trees and shrubs while there was a drought going on” 6:39:00 AM 11/15/07 “His head gardener was constantly planting new stuff, so the 1 month new plants watering permit never expired. That's how they got around the law.” 6:40:01 AM 11/15/07 “Yes, but then when confronted he claimed he didnt know how bad the water crisis was. Uh-huh. And he is still using 2000 gallons per day, even with daily monitoring.” 8:41:10 AM 11/15/07 “My water bill for last month says I used 9,000 gallons. Is that a lot?” 8:51:24 AM 11/15/07 “440,000 gallons of water just how big is the dudes staff (yes please quick put that on the out of context thread)? the dude was watering 5 acres worth of trees and shrubs while there was a drought going on No, he admitted he was using too much before. The number has dropped. He could easily be using an average amount now depending on how much staff lives there.” 8:52:42 AM 11/15/07 “Found this stat online: "The average individual daily consumption of water is 159 gallons, while more than half the world's population lives on 25 gallons." So roughly 4770 gallons per month per person. Which is too much.” 9:47:02 AM 11/15/07 “That's why I drink beer. ;-)” 9:48:00 AM 11/15/07 “Hopefully its dehydrated beer, so you cut down on your H2O footprint.” 9:59:18 AM 11/15/07
