elk river -kansas

“has anyone hiked the elk river trail in kansas,specificaly all the way to the end?
we have hiked the first 5 miles for the last 3 years and this time i have older scouts and leaders in good enough shape to do the rest of the trail.we would like to drop them off at the end of the trail and have them hike back to meet the youger scouts at about the 5 mile marker and need to know where to drop them at.”

“i dont know anything about the trails in kansas, but i do know that as a conscientious troop leader and practitioner of LNT, you limit your group outings to no more than 10 and do not allow your boys to run wild and make lots of noise which disturbs other campers. i am sure they also collect only dead and down wood for firewood and do not alter the campsite”

“humanpackmule - Sorry, but the guy should have an idea of the other end of the trail after hiking part of the trail for the last three years. I read the advice given to him really as saying something else!

And, remember, not all the scoutleaders have your experience. The scouts come first, not the scoutleader's feelings!

crash-we are a small troop-10 scouts/6 leaders and camp every month.we train our youth to adapt to any enviroment and condition so that when they are adults they can handle anthing that comes their way.thats my definition of" concientious"”
