Haven't seen any threads about this tent...anyone out there who has tried this one?...I'm looking for another tent...(Yeah, go figure, the 12 I have remaining just don't fit the bill anymore.....)

Interesting tent. A tad heavy for a single wall.

I would like to see what happens in heavy wind conditions that blow against the sides of the tent.

interesting design - i like the 'condensation drain' feature - i wonder how that ridge pole would hold up in a steady wind - i can see the tent laying down on you in a strong wind due to that pole only having one point of solid attachment.

I have the MSR Hubba Hubba, and from the specs, I'd probably deal with the extra weight for the fly that comes with the Hubba Hubba. Maybe I'm just prejudiced. I've always stayed away from single wall tents though, because it gets so muggy/humid here in Kentucky and the parts of Va. and Tn. I've hiked in.

Floor length and rear ventilation must be top secret.

My son is in the sporting goods business and bought one. We set it up in my front yard to check it out.

He used it once and said it was pretty good. It worked OK in the wind with the full pole arrangement (you can shed one pole to save weight if you like).

About the same time we bought a Sierra Designs Baku 3, which is what we took on the Yosemite trip. We like double doors and vestibules.

Floor Length 6'8"

Rear ventilation:

At the back of the MSR Fling, there is a two panel mesh window (shown by green arrows). A mesh pocket runs horizontally underneath the mesh panel window.

I really like it! it is HUGE for a single wall hoop type tent.. the front door is 5'10" across! ventilation is not an issue and due to the design and if there is any moisture it runs out the sidewall vents instead of going all the way to the floor. Like any hoop tent tho all the height is in the middle so if you are two side by side you head might come in contact with the roof. it is a "heavier" single wall, but i think the space to weight ratio is pretty good, it is very well built too.

this is mine setup
