sea camping in tha San Blas islands Panama
i have a 28ft. sailboat and i'm looking for travellers wanting to explore these wonderful and pristine islands with me.
the boat is very simple and the comfort is camping standards. modest contribution is asked so to help me keeping cruising, to maintain the boat and to cross the panama canal.

I could be interested in joining on such a trip. But I would need a lot more information about you and the trip plans.

I do recommend extreme care around the San Blas Islands. For the most part those people rule themselves and they could be considered a clan. I would rather see some of the Indians in the waiting room at the Paitilla Airport(PAC) in Panama City. Near to those Islands is Playa Langosta, a great beach for swimming.

I do have shipboard experience, much of it in the western area of the Bering Sea. I have been in storms with winds around 115 mph and seas running 60 to 70 feet. In other words, I do have some reasonably sea-worthy legs, although my knees are now shot.

Are you planning to cross via the canal both ways? It is a boring trip, at least to someone who has lived and worked there.

Agreed
I'll vouch for nowslimmer's opinions on the Kuna indians in the San Blas islands, as I was stationed in Panama as a Spanish linguist from '89 to '93.

You've prob already been told about the ruins of the Spanish fort at San Lorenzo, and Portobello- I enjoyed them. Several friends enjoyed Bocas del Toro, on the Western side of the Caribbean.

Let me know if you want more info- not the seagoing type, but I loved Panama and think you'll enjoy it as well.
