The Hospital in Maryville is directly across from the courthouse/jail.

Now that's what I call public service!

Yeah, they hauled him out of the creek on a stretcher.

If it hadn't been for a tuber on the river, poor sap would have probably drowned.

Probably should've rescued the Camaro and left the guy in the river.

Maybe the stupid tuber received the $10,000 reward for the capture.

What reward?

Actually I meant that comment in jest.

We should all call him up and tell him what a dumbass he is.

Whoa.. it gets even better.. "Because the alleged crime took place on Park land, the Smokies has jurisdiction and the driver could face federal or state charges."

towndawg...wtf are you talking about, he's not a dumb@$$ in his eyes or his friends. If he had a mullet to match, and a few missing teeth, that was a score...2 more beers and he would have cleared the river

humanpackmule - I was just jesting, too. But, a car thief could be a wanted criminal sporting a price tag.

Actually, he was using the car to help clean some of the trash out of the Little River. LNT.

LOL.

State Park Cops don't mess around
I had my run in with Natchex Trace- doing 60 in a 40 on the Rt96 overpass bridge. I explained to the judge that my car was bearing 500# of weight over the normal and my compact Echo just picked up more speed on the downhill coming to the bridge. He took one look at my former bf and believed me (I think) then reduced the fine as a good cit with a clean driving history.

I don't have the details, but a lead in to the 11 PM news indicated a rescue took place at the sinks yesterday.

There is more than one sign at the sinks saying "warning, the rocks will be slick and serious injury or death can occur" Use extreme caution and do not climb on the rocks.

I have two rules for the Park....

Rule 1..Every time I go into the park, I see stupid people

Rule 2..You can never tell stupid people anything because they won't listen.

I can just about guarantee you, that right now there is someone out on the rocks at the sink discussing how some poor sap fell and killed himself yesterday.

For those who may or might be in the neighborhood during the last weekend of this month, it is time for our annual Fall Festival in Townsend. Plenty of bluegrass and usually some pretty fair food.

The Lone Tones are playing Friday the 28th and they are worth stopping to listen to.

Woo Hoo, Christmas parade is in a few minutes. NGB and I are walking up the hill to revel in small town holiday festivities.

Every year, we have our assortment of 4-wheelers and tractors in the parade. That involves about 60% of the locals.

This year we had the big addition of riding lawnmowers and golf carts in the parade also. That meant about 90% of the locals could participate.

The remaining 10% and all the out of town guests just watched.
