New loot

“Well I got back from Mexico yesterday and had some gear waiting on me. I had three packages, 2 from REI and one from Campmor that I've ordered over the last month. I got a couple pairs of smartwools (old ones are work socks now), 2 tops and bottoms of REI mts base layers and found them on sale in tall (it's hard to find base backcountry clothing that fits me well since I'm 6'5" and 265#), and I bought the Mountiansmits Guardian tent. I set the tent up and it seems to be well built and will fit 2 full size adults and gear nicely. It was purchased for trips with my son and his best friend and since we won't be doing high mileage the weight won't be an issue. I will also use it for winter trips when there is myself and someone else to share the weight. After I have spent some nights in it I will post the results.”

I was in Aldi's of all places and found a new head lamp for $8.99.
It has a red led, 2 white led's, and one ultra bright - "tear your fellow hikers eyes from their sockets" settings. WOO HOO!!!
no more mini-mag for me! It runs on 3 AAA batteries and could possibly rival Jimmysan, and Crash Bangs light sabers (I forget the actual name) on the high setting.”
