I heard a really depressing interview with Thomas Friedman on Imus on my way to work. Friedman called it a failure and felt we should get out ASAP.

Anyone else hear Friedman lately?

I'm thinking there is still much to salvage. I'd like to think the IRG report offers a genuine way forward, but there is so much gloom right now. Other than the IRG (and maybe McCain and Biden) it seems that everyone is either totally gloomy or in denial.

It's the MTV mindset. No attention span.

Iraq is fine. We're doing our job. "Yes", Iran and Syria, etc. are trying to thwart our efforts, but we're gaining much more than they're taking away. We're infiltrating the middle east with intelligence operatives.

I'm all for killing terrorists every chance we get, but I don't know if I agree that things in Iraq are going fine. I say carve out a nice chunk of land for the Kurds to have their own country, and let the rest of them continue in their savagery towards each other.

Some American cities are more dangerous, and Iraq is a warzone! People have fallen prey to the crying of the left and the MSM.

Repeat the lie enough .....

Okay Stick...we carve out a place for this one particular culture that has been harassed, and faced extinction for generations. They have shown an incredible support for our Troops (by the way) and we let them run their own nation.....then the surrounding people of different culture and belief decide to wipe them off the map. How far do we go to protect them?

Moonface said: Iraq is fine.

Sure, if you're not one of the half-million civilians pushing up daisys...

I don't have the answer for that XL. How far do we go to protect any of our smaller allies?

I fully support killing radicals who hate America (the greatest country on earth, just to remind any pansy progressives reading this) and wish to harm Americans, and I'm not a CNN/New York Times zombie; but even Bush, in light of the study group recommendations, says that it's time to try something different.
