Big Agnes Sleeping PadsView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 5 of 5 messages posted.
Good Price? “Backcountry Edge is running a special deal on Big Agnes (and some other) sleeping pads. They have reduced the prices by about $6 to $10 each and offer free shipping and free returns (no restock fees). Just thought I'd pass it one since I am buying one (I had read they make one of the best sleeping pads). http://www.backcountryedge.com/products/product_catalog.aspx?Cat0=81&Cat1=82” 11:33:50 AM 12/08/06 “Definitely one of the more comfortable pads out there. Not as convenient since you must blow it up yourself, but I know I'm willing to spend 5 minutes blowing it up when I'm going to be laying on it for 8+ hours.” 12:20:22 PM 12/08/06 “I used mine the other day for the first time. Wow, very comfortable but a biach to blow up.” 1:04:42 PM 12/08/06 “I got one for $5 at the REI scratch and dent sale. It had a seam blown out in about a 2 inch area. I thought I'd try to glue it back together, but then I saw that the seam wasn't glued, it was fused. I got out my iron for putting wax on skiis, and started at a low temperature and gradually eased it up till it melted it together. I slept on it one night and the seam held, so I got lucky. Its kind of narrow, but it will fit in my wife's Big Anges bag nicely, and is very compact. Score!” 4:31:42 PM 12/08/06 “Woo hoo! I had read a lot of great reviews on it and I don't mind blowing it up - I've got a lot of hot air . . . I can't wait to try mine out at Roan Mountain with Karo in late December!! On a side note, sorry I'm not around here much. But I'm not a troll (I just looked at the goof and doof thread). Just ask Karo (I'm Kevin, from the Columbia/Franklin Tennessee Trails Association).” 11:23:36 AM 12/13/06
