Being new here, where would you say most of the TT regulars live? I see quite a few from the Southeast and Midwest. Is that where the bulk of the folks here live?

Just curious. Facts/Stats are welcomed! Sarcastic remarks are ok, too! :)

It seems like we're from all over. There aren't very many from the plains states, but then there's no hiking there either (Black Hills excluded). The neat thing is that most of the folks from a given region have met one another. There's also a good bit of mixing from different regions. I've met our lone guy from Kansas as well as one from OH and one from MA.

I bet I am the closest one to GSMNP. I get 9 Million visitors a year.

Thank God 8.5 Million of them stay out of Townsend.

Well, so far I haven't resorted to flagging down traffic on US 321 to have someone to talk to. However, if I get desparate, that's always an option.

Hmmm. I am not sure what I am compensating for. . .

I have been using the ID compensate on numerous message boards since about 1995, when I was working in "Compensation." It just stuck since then, so I keep using it when I register for new sites/board. Ifn that one is taken, I use a variation, like "compensateme" or "compensated."

Thanks for the frapper link and all the replies!
