I just witnessed the murder of a dog
I posted this on the other side as well. I am still crying!

I am so upset! I just saw a man kick his Chihuaua in the head. It happened right outside of my apartment. I ran outside when it happened and was yelling at the guy. I asked him what did he do, and he said "nothing." The dog was laying there with a massive head wound and was seizing. It was awful. I kept yelling at the guy that he killed his dog. He said it wasn't dead. What a moron! I bet the dog died before he got it back inside of his apartment. Anyway, I called the police and they came over. They wouldn't let me go with them to find this guy. I hope they find him, but I bet he has the dog hidden away. I know it is either dead by now or close to it. A little dog with that kind of head wound and seizing isn't long for this world.

The man cussed me up one side and down the other when I was calling 911. Told me to mind my own business.

Oh my god, this is so awful! I'll be talking to the apartment management tomorrow.

Actually "mispell" is "misspell", but I don't care. Since you brought it up and everything...

Anyways, man, if I saw that I'd freak out.

I saw dog abuse one time when I lived in apartments. This pregnant girl was kicking their very big dog. I forget the breed, but it wasn't a dog you'd want to mess with. The dog just took it in submission. I went out and she was just heading in. Her boyfriend, who looked like a gang member, had just come out and I started yelling at them.

I know I scared the crap out of them, but seriously doubt that the abuse stopped.

Who would want to hurt a chihuahua? They're so smart.

It's probably not the best idea to confront somebody that is violent. If you get into a physical altercation you could BOTH go to jail. Some states would assign prison time (not fine or county jail) to somebody who abuses animals.

My opinion (& it could be wrong) would be to copy down the vehicle lic number or his address for the authorities. This action is much easier if you don't confront the person & you do it from an unobtrusive SAFE distance.

Your VERY best tool is a pocket camera or video recorder. Nobody can dispute the facts & it spurs officials to actions.

If things like this happen often outside your home, you might consider a web camera or security camera (w/ time lapse recorder) aimed out your window.

Sorry woodzie, but if they did bust him, rest assured the new laws in TN in regard to animal cruelty are pretty tough.

MAN...last week I pulled up on the Dog that had been running wild and got hit. Heck the truck who hit him never slowed up.

About 3 years ago we had an incident in the Public Housing Neighborhood where I saw a group of teenagers kicking a dog. I got out, identified myself and asked them where they "stayed". At first they denied living there...then when I informed them they were getting ready to go to jail for Trespass they tole me. I walked to the back door of the apartment and the MOMMA started cussing me (as I called 911). What could I do? I called animal control who took the dog (it was adopted out) and MOMMA got a neat Christmas Present EVICTION. Yeah I was there a week before Christmas as they moved their stuff to the street.

Check with your management of the Apartment complex, sometime they can take actions that at least get rid of the scum.

Man that's the kind of thing that makes ya feel crappy for days. I saw a young dog get nailed by a school bus in front of me and the vision has never left me. I hope justice is done.

An update on the dog incident...

I called the police department today to see if the found they guy. All they would tell me is that I need to talk to Animal Control, and those officers won't be in until after 1:00 Tuesday

I stopped by the apartment management office today and filed a report with them. The manager is puzzled about who it could be, but she will be following up on it. She said if she can pinpoint this jerk, he will be asked to leave.

And here's the real kicker. This is an email I got from a friend of mine. I did a copy and paste for your viewing pleasure:
(this email is from a friend whose sister has a police scanner)...
I wanted to pass this email on to you. **** has a police scanner and I emailed her last night to ask if she'd heard anything about the dog....

Here's the sister's reply:
I did hear the dispatch, but I never heard any disposition. I don't know if they found the guy or not. They dispatched it like somebody calling because a guy was kicking his own dog - no big deal. They probably won't give her any information if she calls, although she might be able to buy a police report if there is one. The thing is, if he went back into his own apartment, and told the cops everything was okay, they wouldn't be able to do a search, or find out anything else. They won't even do a report. .If he threatened Debbie, she may need to press charges for that, to get any justice. I'd definitely call the Humane Society, they might be able to take a sworn statement and do something with it, but again, there's a matter of identification - did she know him? She might consider talking to, Kim, the new apartment manager. She'd probably be most sympathetic and have access to the apartment, through one of the maintenance guys, to look for blood, etc.

Woodzie years ago I was at a Chuckie Cheese when a gang came in a beat the SNOT out of some guy. They came back twice. The Cops showed up 35 minutes after the 911 call.

The next day I was talking to one of the Senior Deputies and explained the next time I was calling the news too. I also directed him to talk to a Chief in another city. We had a problem in that city with cops showing up WAY LATE. So one night I called the news and they were there for 20 minutes when the cops rolled up. (LOL)

i went up to the door of the apartment above me when i was just out of college because there were loud crashes and screams. a woman was begging, "don't hit me!" over and over. i was scared out of my mind because i had seen the guy before and he was huge. his wife was this petite little thing so i was really concerned. i should have just called the cops and i don't know what i was thinking. anyway, the door flings open and here is this guy steaming mad and has a gun pointed at me. i just stood there, honestly scared out of my wits, and i just said, "hi, i'm your neighbor from downstairs and i heard some noises and i was sort of worried." the psycho puts down the gun, smiles, puts out his hand and says, "hi, yeah, we are ok. she gets crazy when she drinks. it's a huge problem. i am really sorry." in the background the woman is saying, "please don't leave me, please don't leave me with him." it was gut wrenching. i replied something like, "well, I called the cops so I am really sorry." i was lying but as soon as i got downstairs i called the cops.

now the cops show up and it turns out the guy is a cop and they talk to me and wind up not doing anything to the guy (they took her out in an ambulance).

i saw her the next day and i told her that if there was anything i could do to help her, anything, that she just had to ask. i was pretty young and i had no idea what on earth i would have done but i don't think i ever felt so low and depressed at that point in my life.

they moved 2 months later.

anyway, that's the story of my personal encounter with violence in my life.

RATIOS
About that scum that kicked his dog in the head....

Lets say he's 180lbs and the dog is 4lbs. That's a ratio of 45:1.....so we get a wrecking ball with a weight of 8100lbs and wack him in the head....and all is well. Whether he lives or dies....who cares!!!

Jimmy, if you ever have that problem again...get the cops names, call internal affairs. About 5 years ago we had a cop who lit into one of my Engine companies on a car wreck. He cussed them a blue streak about blocking the road (working a car wreck) I called a supervisor and got the worst P.O.S. to have a badge pinned on (relative of a local Politician). The Supervisor finally told me that the officer was intoxicated. The next day I called to find out what had happend...NADA. I called internal affairs...(would you want a guy with a .40 Cal Glock drunk?)

Ended up the Sheriff fired the cop, the supervisor (which took MAJOR COJOHONES). The other thing is get names call the press.
