When Santa may not be enough

“Okay....I have done my best but I figure maybe the Jolly Old elf needed some assistance....So for the past 3 months I have dropped printouts of the Rainshadow on the other half's desk, left em in her car. Even enlisted my Son in mentioning how a nice light tarptent would be neat for a present....what else can I do (besides Ordering it)?”

“Sass...this is not a fuego thread (LOL)...look I know the fat little drunk at the Mall with the fingers that smell either of old tuna or cheap liquor is not Santa...to me Santa is the spirit of the time. Religious, for some (I enjoy the Christmas Eve and Vigil services) but for others I see it as that last HURRAH before we hit the long cold winter...or with the luck of Global Climate Change that long...somewhat cooler but not as cold period.

I learned years ago it was not the trees, or the presents or what not...it is the fact that WE can be together for a short while before Sis gets in an argument with brother about GI Joe being a Doll or ACTION figure, uncle Fred knocking back one too many rums and doing the technicolor yawn in the middle of the living room (LOL)>..AHHH the memories.

My son told me what he really wanted...and apparently he has gotten on Bear's Atonement thread (LOL)....No he wants one of the new video things....LOL getting him a new stove.”

“Yeah whatever. If your wife doesn't get you the tent it's probably because you just weren't good. Maybe you'll get another swiss tool or maybe a gift certificate to JC Pennys (if your lucky) instead of a bag of rocks. =D”
