In case anyone here is a CW fan - The FCC will soon drop the requirement for morse code for all license classes. I almost got my Tech license 10 years ago but life always got in the way of getting to a test... someday.

Maybe not if you work on a railroad.

What ever happened to 73 Amateur Radio magazine? I used to love reading that mag years ago.

the end of 73 - simple matter of economics, not enough advertisers

I liked 73 mag for all the homebrew projects.
Wayne Green was an early microcomputer pusher.
His mag had great anti ARRL stuff. LOL

ham radio
tecntrek,

Take a minute and take the test. You'll have lots of fun on the bands. Usually carry a QRP rig mountain-topping. Learn the code. More fun than voice and better carry distances on CW.

Better chance of me getting a ham license than finishing my pilot's license any time in the near future. I still have my file with all of my notes - I read that 4-inch-thick book that ARRL publishes annually, several years in a row. A little light reading, LOL.

It's good for people without a trail name, too...
